10/3 Mets vs. Marlins -- Closing Day
Espada is a retard. We agree on something, that frickin guy boggles my mind. Reyes on 2nd, single into RF..... Hold him at 3rd by standing half way up the line and yelling at him to get back. The players should be allowed to keep going if they think they can make it. For christ sake, during one of the Phillies games Pierre was at the wall and they held the runner at 3rd. Admin Beinfest update
Apparently we could be waiting a month untill we get FO answers. According to a new Capozzi article, Loria is meeting with everyone Oct. 25 and that we could hear something then. You can say that again. (EDIT) Damn, you deleted the other two.

So that guy that used to play here just won the triple crown
He was Fat, he ate himself off of 3B, and almost ate himself off of 1B. If they hadn't have signed Fielder he would have surely been a DH by next year. He was a great player, but he was too costly and didn't want to lose weight to sign a deal until he was in DET. Them's the facts.

Turf and the ballpark extra activities
Pineapple Express, its supposed to help with the ball's elevation. Or get Reyes really really high, they aren't sure yet which.

2012 MarlinsBaseball.com Fantasy Football
Hey guys, I'm running late to the league. I'm Team Chuck Finley, if you need anyone on my team they are all for trade. As far as I'm concerned they are all burned. First to go is my IDP Brian Bosworth. If you make a stupid trade proposal, prepare for it to be accepted. (Damn, wish I caught this sooner- oh well).

Marlins give Adam Greenberg a chance
What do you guys think about this one at bat going just a tad but longer and giving him a full look in ST for a AAA or AA job? I'm all for it! It looks like he is great playing shape, and can still play well enough to earn a spot on Israel's WBC team! I hope het gets invited back to camp next year! That would be tits! Indeed, that would be "The Tits".

Hindsight: signing Heath Bell
Looks like your reading comprehension is lacking. I'm saying that Bell had nothing to do with Wilson, but at the same time that money could have been spent elsewhere more efficiently or better yet--saved for later, which would have made the cost-cutting for 2013 more palatable. If these types of signings had no consequences, the Marlins wouldn't be needing to scale back payroll for next season. I know what you said, jackass. I was simply pointing out Bells money had no effect on the massive contract they tried to bestow upon Wilson or what the next payrolls going to be. And as far as scaling back payroll, I don't believe it as much as one should. I can't seem to wrap my head around Loria just giving up on building a contender while still having players like Reyes, Buerhle, Johnson on the payroll. When those players leave, then I'm scared about salary cuts. If he has a 70 win team and a 118 million payroll, why wouldn't he cut it back as far as he could and get the same results. I see Loria adding to the payroll to be quite honest.

Hindsight: signing Heath Bell
I never really understood that mindset. The Bell signing might not have been the reason why the Marlins didn't land CJ Wilson, but in the end every dollar spent has consequences and ramifications. The money wasted on a closer could have been used to fill depth elsewhere, despite not being a flashy free agent name like Wilson. Or they could have simply saved the money and not spent it at all. If you haven't noticed, the Marlins are planning on scaling back payroll because revenue did not meet expectations. How nice would it be to not have to pay another $9 million for Bell in 2013? I basically think that whenever the team does use money inefficiently, you should care because while those decisions might not have plainly visible effects, they do have consequences and place constraints upon the team. Every dollar misspent will have negative consequences in some shape or form. You do realize the Marlins offered 20+ Million more then the Angels in a last gasp effort to sign Wilson, and it failed right? Bells 9 Mil had no consequence on their offseason plans. The team underperformed like crazy, and Bells 9 Mil had nothign to do with it. Like Onley said at one point "Loria is willing to sign anybody because all it costs is money, not prospects"

Johnson scratched, LeBlanc to start tonight
Isn't this his first missed game of the season? I'll take it- he's been healthy this year if not consistent. See you in '13

If i were the mets i would intentionally walk him. To lead off the game? You don't want to intentionally walk the lead-off guy. Unless your the Marlins.

Marlins give Adam Greenberg a chance
You have to wonder what the Cubs reasoning was. Their final 3 games are at home vs the Astros. How much more meaningless could one game, much less one AB be? I hope that goat and all it's decendents have twins. No one who was on that team in 05 is still there- they are all hired mercenaries who could careless about the cubs past, they are only interested in the immediate future. That same reason is why the marlins did it. They remember what happened in 05, where and how. It's kind of Symbolic to see it come full circle an he's playing FOR Miami in the local where his career effectively ended. It's a great gesture by a FO who is still here. something that is evidently lost in the gun for hire Front office of the cubs. While I'm excited by all the offseason movements today, I long for the days where an organization was a players home until he died. Where a team was a family, and the looked out for their own past or present. Chipper is the last of that breed.

Hindsight: signing Heath Bell
His weight has nothing to do with it. HE is fat and ugly. His weight will help him somewhat- if not pitching- Atleast when he's putting the screws to his wife. Side note- check out his DLHQ interview from February. Kind of funny at the end.

Hindsight: signing Heath Bell
I would actually say I was very wrong about Bell. I did not think it would be so disastrous. No sane person thought he would suck this hard. I really hope he can lose some weight this offseason- if not for his career but for his future. He's going to need to pass a physical when we cut him.

Homer Bailey is good....
I remember when I had Homer Bailey as a member of the New York Gothams. Billy Martin and the Gothams congratulate him on this realistic occasion, even though he has 46 control.
