1. I have a prescription for slow release Sidenifil.... I'm hoping SOMETHING will eventually. Just losing Stanton, Realmutto and seeing how the ballpark was dismantled killed it for me. I'm still a Marlins Fan, but theres only so many times I can see a repeat of 1998, 2006, 2012 and still find hope.
2. Bally's is interested in making a big push in the gambling world and television. This is cheap quick advertisement nightly throughout the US and most importantly for them- they were able to leverage the Marlins needs for a TV deal and sponsorship agreement into one deal. Ballys doesn't really do just fitness anymore, it caught me by surprise too. But ONLY after I started researching why fox would sell their stations to a fitness brand. They probably will have an app soon when its legal in florida to place in game wagers and probably already have an agreement set up to place a betting office inside the stadium too. Just goes to show how piss poor this ownership overestimated the naming rights worth and TV contracts.
3. Sorry, I usually go MIA for while these days on the board. The trades od 2017/2018 killed my excitment for the team. Yeah, the Marlins Park signage came down off the 836 side of the ballpark, someone had posted a picture of it on twitter. The photo they had showed simply "LINS Park"

5. Trust has that cool little restaurant and shopping area right outside. When I play hockey up there it’s a great spot to take a date even on non game days. T Mobile park I have no clue which that is.... is that safeco park w a new name? Atleast the top can come off and you feel like your outside. Tropicana literally feels like the US1 Indoor Flea Market. That skyline is beautiful but I got a feeling that windows gonna have ads on it soon at the rate the stadium is being renovated. thw center field porch / deck is much bigger than the sculpture by the way
6. I’ve been there, often actually. I compare it to an indoor flea market that 85% of the stores are closed for the day or out of business. The little “cutouts” in the concourses they’ve put things in strike me as the stores malls have that let others use the window space for advertising. the stadium has no personality outside of the ray tank.
7. I’m going to say this, the team naming rights deal will be tied to the TV deal. I’m really starting to thing Bally’s Park is going to be the name after seeing the signage come down and the timing of the TV deal announcement.
8. Honest question..... is there ANY personality left in the ballpark? Seems like all the "Features" have been removed. Fishtank, HR whateverthefuckitwascalled, lime green walls, art throughout the concourse, and I think the bobbleheads are all gone. Last time I was there the 8th street eats section was gone or closed. Clevelander was rumored to be closed too right before covid? I mean, at this point its turning into Tropicana Field with a retractable roof. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?
9. He ran off into the vast unknown of the interwebs..... But I choose to believe he had to divest himself of the website while chasing his career aspirations and took a step back afterwards. I see his byline from time to time. He's around, just not around here. He's too good for us pond scum. He's a big fish now. He's Gary Sheffield, and were all just John Koronka, Russ Morman, Ron Mahay, Colin Rea, Anthony Friese and John Johnstone.
10. Rumor has it Jumbo Joe Frisaro got a bonus for every Marlins fan he blocked on twitter. He's finally been able to retire after adding the final block to his retirement nest egg.
11. This should be us but we're playin.
12. Believe it or not, Samson has done alot of this. Even admitted his own failings and what was Loria's problems. I know Samson gets alot of crap (rightfully so) for what he did here and what he's done in the media... but I will say hearing him talk about it I never once felt he was lying. Hes just naturally candid. He's thrown "Jeffrey" under the bus enough to know that he isn't afraid to speak the truth. Loria 100% was involved in all those short sighted vet signings and trades and didn't value for a second prospects that weren't gaining acclaim as a top 100.
13. From whats been said.... Loria didn't value minor leagues outside of baseball americas top 100, and considered them all expendable in exchange for the thought of immediate winning. Thats how we lost Paddock, Castillo, German, The Toothless Guy who ended up in PITT. Hill preached development and took an interest in the minors. Loria used them like fun coupons and offered them to other teams like lobsters they can take home to their miserable wives (wolf of wallstreet reference). Loria signed Bell, Buck, Chen, pushed for Latos and others and the team was handcuffed with their salary on the books. Based on everything Hill, Samson, and other said BEFORE these signings and how far out of left field they were I believe the narative that people like Dan Jennings and Scott Boras got in Loria's ear and whispered sweet nothings to get the sugar daddy to spread some sugar to their babies.
14. Hill deserved better than he got after 18 years with the team. Heck- so did Samson, Perez, Dawson, McKeon and Conine. To give him a token contract offer they knew he'd decline reeks of the Mckeon debacle. Jeter has disdain for anything pre 2018 and while we lampooned the Loria years as ignoring the past... atleast he respected what long time vets could do to grow the game and the Marlins Foundation made a consistent difference in the community. Samson was the head of their philanthropic endeavors and should have been retained for that alone. Hill when left in charge proved he could find talent such as Fernandez, Yelich, Stanton, Ozuna and could identify underappreciated talent in Prado, Gordon and the like. I really hope Jeter knows what hes doing, because to shun everyone and bring in "His People" leaves us with no real connection to this team outside of "Miggys Lockerroom" and a few soundbites. I just don't see myself being invested in this team anymore. Heck I haven't been here in about a year. This feels like when your favorite mom and pop restaurant decides to franchise and its now color by numbers and devoid of any personality that made the original spot such a joy to go to. Congrats Jeter, you bought Casola's and turned it into Little Caesars.
15. All I see is “Florida Man Yells at Wall” They want two open air ballparks because building a dome in ONE location is too expensive. This just comes down to politics and a politician being a dick. I think this is the only leverage they could try to get without burning all bridges for 8 more years. Realistically, I’d just fold in a few years- bankruptcy like if you will. They can’t force a business that went under to play. They can pay- but they won’t have anyone here. Let him try to purchase another team after a one team expansion is done- move the organization / players to a new team and let sternberg buy some other team eventually. Think of he Barons/Seal/North stars/ Sharks situation as a fallback if anything.
16. I don't believe in payroll increases either, but.... if you're going to bring someone in... why Ozuna. He was so erratic when he was here. Unless his arm issues have really killed his value and he wanted to be back at a discount. Really, I hope they don't break the bank to bring this guy in.
17. Has he lost his G'damn mind?
18. That team- Easily between 73 and 83 wins. Add One or two starting pitchers and we could have a real chance at a Division Title. Wait... Isn't that the 2015 Lineup? I think if we were still with that group, we would have signed a SS or put Dee Gordon back there, moved Dietrich to 2B or Bench and had Brian Anderson Playing 3B by now. Prado (assuming he's in the same physical condition as now) will play the utility infield role. Loria would have traded JT Riddle, and Drew Steckendeckerriderdafur for Hansel Robles too.
19. I'm more of a Jessica Robbin fan myself.
20. 99 Problems but Monte Harrison aint one.
