  1. True, but then the shysters can easily sneak into the good seats. Keep em upstairs and they don't have much of a choice. Or make 3.05 seats in sections 3 and 5 !
  2. Yeah, make em go downstairs- put it by the escalator whichever sections they can sit in.
  3. There is a garage door by the players entrance built INTO the park that Jeter and Sherman use.
  4. The black for the Mets worked though. Their look had become terrible just prior to the black and NY isn't always cheery. They Royal Blue and Orange with WHite Homes and Road Greys were stale. Once they added the black, they were able to stabilize their look, add more merch and had a kick ass hybrid black/blue cap to boot. They dropped the black drop shadow, but pretty much still use the same uniforms as 1998-2011. It's a good look now, but having that Midnight Black was a good choice. The black worked regardless. Same with the Reds. The Royals should have added gold, the A's shouldn't have done anything - but then again I think it was #FuckBeane and #CheapBeane because he didn't want to pay for stain removers in the clubhouse.
  5. Misery loves company, and as suckers we are all company men.
  6. Don't insult the rocks like that. I hope Mattingly brought this into the center of the Room and slowly remove pieces of is uniform while everyone shares Jobu's Rum Step By Step, Game By Game, Piece by Piece (ooh, ooh, ooh) And this old fanbaseis rough and ruined So many dangers along the way So many burdens might fall upon us So many troubles that we have to face.
  7. I know it's a joke, but sell those upper deck tickets like that every game and you might get a handful more people a game lol.
  8. Mets are a amalgam of the Dodgers and Giants, I was ok with them introducing black... the problem is when they leaned heavy on the black, The Dodgers Logo is White and Blue, The Giants Black and Orange. I think it worked.
  9. Yeah, they are doing that now- but what about when their production drops 5 years from now. We'd be happy we aren't paying for that diminished production then.
  10. For the record, that's for one person. Multiply that and tickets by a few and how many families have that disposable income.
  11. I think Miami will support a consistent winning team more than the Tampa area... but really- MLB has just priced the casual fan and families out of the game. We had decent attendance spikes in from late 2003 to 2004, 2005. The stadium played a big factor in it not going up alot since it was hotter than hell and in the middle of no where. Take that 2003 Team and put it in it's current location.. I don't think we'd have a problem with 20k actual fans a night,
  12. From what I've seen, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Arizona, San Diego, Atlanta, Washington, ChiSox, Baltimore, and others don't either.
  13. Every since people started crapping on the Marlins attendence even more this year, I've paid attention to highlights and opposing teams stadiums. SOME of these ballparks look just as empty as ours. Suntrust Park against the mets a few days ago, Reds vs. Marlins and Reds Vs. Pirates. Baseballs just stupid expensive to enjoy. How many people have an extra $100 to enjoy a night out at the park every other week? It's a big commitment even w season tickets. Parking, tickets for two, maybe dinner. You're better off just staying home and enjoying a nice dinner with family. Heck, taking a family of four out to dinner is cheaper than going to a ballgame these days.
  14. Sorry, didn't mean to double post. I've driven from homestead at 615 and got to the ballpark in time to be in my seats for a 7:10 start back in April 2012 (also 2017 and 2018) (Used 2012 for a more packed season) I've picked up a friend at exit 93 and the turnpike (another time took i95) and drove to the stadium at 530 and was in the stadium by 630. It's doable. The trick is checking the GPS apps before you go so you know what streets to avoid. Then again, I got from Homestead to the BB&T Center for the panthers season opener against the NJD and my engine just blew in my other car- so maybe I drive like an asshole too. #FuckJeter
  15. Sounds to me like people got excuses to not spend money- not to go see the team.
  16. Loria probably only paid the first two years, of that heavily backloaded deal. AKA 5MM lol.
  17. It's worse than 42 Million, the current ownership group was responsible for his $13 Million Signing Bonus too. Don't be surprised if he elects surgery at the end of august, so he can return at the end of next year and hunt one last MILB deal to regain his value, unless he comes back and pitches well enough to earn a MLB deal.
  18. Reynel Pinto- for taking off with a 1 Mil worth of jewlery and not paying for it... when his salary was like 350k, for not paying his agent and for being served while in uniform for the court cases attached to it. Scott Olsen, for his DUI and fighting w the cops when david samson said every player had access to a car service 24/7. Miguel Cabrera for not losing the weight the Marlins told him to lose, and eventually getting sent to Detroit. Heath Bell for saying "Gods trying Him" and thats why he sucked. Uggie Urbina for dousing 5 men in gasoline and rying to set them on fire in his backyard- then trying to attack them with a machete- to lose 10 years of his life in jail while his mother was just recoved after a kidnapping. He shoulda just taken them out and dropped em off a mountain in a jeep.
  19. https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/Series-Preview-Phillies-at-Marlins-508494991.html give it a clickety click.
  20. I've heard Jupiter and Broward can support a team better.
  21. Not saying Expansion to go to 32 teams. Saying expansion after contraction to stay at 30 teams, to break leases and relocate. Unlike the NFL Cleveland/Houston issues, where they promised theyd be back- it would be - These teams revenues sucked and we needed 30 teams. As a private company they closed up shop, and the players contracts were reassigned to new cities.
  22. Sorry, I grabbed the wrong article but the idea behind it was- if the city of miami opens up the contract again - the marlins are free to leave because the contracts been broken. MLBPA wouldn't flip. They want to maintain jobs- not teams. If two teams are contracted and immediately replaced- they won't care.
  23. MLB is doing away w pandering to Memorial Day and created a Armed Forces Day, All Memorial Day stuff won't be sold to the public. Looks like Nick Francona got his wish. Kind of excited for the workout day caps and the Mothers Day one. Mothers and Fathers Day have Tie Die. Figured this Warranted it's own thread. http://news.sportslogos.net/2019/04/12/mlb-unveils-2019-holiday-all-star-caps-and-uniforms/
  24. Anyone else getting the feeling Jeter is purposely showing exactly what Miami is as a Market and is eventually going to use it to try to force the team out of here? I know he can't do it until 2035 or something like that, but it's only 16 years away and if it doesn't work here...wouldn't MLB try to make it happen sooner. Miami-Dade's already trying to correct the contract and stuff and like the article says- it's a pandoras box. Any change could result in a year to year lease like Oakland has w the Raiders. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article157638494.html The weird part is, showing actual attendance- claiming were losing money and not having a consistent cash flow could be enough to bring about contraction. I don't think the lease can be enforced if the teams contracted. It just says if there is a team it has to be in Miami right? Could MLB contract the Marlins and Rays in a few years, and open expansion teams in other cities after a dispersal draft of sorts? Just thinking out loud w my tinfoil hat- but this shit w Jeter isn't sitting right w me. Somethings telling me "On the surface, he's trying to bring fans back- but he's hedging his bets and if it doesn't work they can say "Told you so, I tried, get me out of here". "
