Keyshawn for Galloway?
Galloway becomes trade bait By Jennifer Floyd Engel Star-Telegram Staff Writer IRVING - The Cowboys gave up a lot to get Joey Galloway, and they are looking for something in return for their investment. Sources confirmed that the Cowboys met with several teams at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis who are interested in trading for the receiver, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One possible scenario has Galloway going to the Bucs in exchange for receiver Keyshawn Johnson, who was deactivated by the team for the last six games of 2003 and has vowed not to play for them again. He is due a $1 million roster bonus on April 1, but Tampa Bay general manager Bruce Allen informed Johnson's agent, Jerome Stanley, at the Pro Bowl that the Bucs are looking to trade him for a player or a pick, not simply release him. Neither the Cowboys nor the Bucs would comment on specific trade talks. "What I will say is [Galloway]is on our team and under contract," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "Now, we got some work to do on that contract." The Cowboys have been working with Galloway's agent, Leigh Steinberg, to try to renegotiate his seven-year, $42 million contract down to a more palatable figure for interested teams. Galloway is in the fifth year of the contract. Johnson has four years remaining on his eight-year, $56 million contract, but he is likely to command more if a team tried to sign him in free agency. The proposed trade makes sense for both the Cowboys and Bucs. While Galloway has been a huge disappointment in Dallas and quickly found his way into coach Bill Parcells' doghouse, the Cowboys do not want to simply release a player they sacrificed two first-round draft picks for in the 2000 trade with the Seahawks. The Bucs find themselves in a similar pickle. They want to avoid having to release Johnson before April 1, thereby getting nothing for their talented receiver. Compounding their problem is the fact that potential trading partners know they could get Johnson for nothing later. Among the teams Johnson has expressed interest in playing for is the Cowboys. Parcells coached Johnson while with the New York Jets, and they maintain a close relationship. A source said Parcells would love to have Johnson again. While the Bucs are hoping to have Johnson's situation resolved by April 1, sources say nothing is close to being done. If anything is going to happen, it will happen after free agency begins on March 3 and player movement starts to shake out. The other teams that have expressed interest in Galloway are the Bills and the Falcons. Staff Writer Charean Williams Contributed to This Report. as a Boys fan i will take it it is sad to say Joey has been a bust and has set back the franchise...

Burnett's return will add yet more punch
as a Cowboy fan i will never trust a Hutchinson... Olsen is a superb prospect. and Jonny, i think Willis will be around for a long time considering he only has 1 year in the bigs and wont even sniff free agency for the next 4+ seasons...
