I know its late and over and thankfully none of it really mattered in the end thanks to Ramon Castro. Nothing makes me angrier then an old sweat drenched pig on an authority trip. I feel the reasoning for such horrible umpire work recently in the majors is due to the MLB Umpire Union which if you dont know is one of the strongest unions in the country. This means umpires basically can not be fired for poor performance, bad judgement, or even diminished skills. In my opinion its really bad for the game knowing that a game in rookie league is probably called more fairly by younger better umpires then it is in the greatest baseball league in the world.
