congrats to the rays!!! i've been watching games all year long, even went to a couple of rays games, and i'm so glad to see a team like that (a team that plays as a team without a superstar) reach the playoffs. i hope they clinch a spot tomorrow.

with 17 games left yesterday, the mets blew a 9th inning lead to lose the first game of the dh. and today, your new york mets are choking again, this time giving up 5 runs to the braves in the ninth and are now down 7-4, after being up 4-2 to start the inning. anyone else think we could be seeing another mets collapse?

Once the Marlins get a new stadium, their attendance numbers will soar. I don't see that happening for the Rays though. i say give it a few years for both teams to get a solid fanbase footing. this is the first time the rays are winning, and it took some time also for the yankees to get to sellouts when they started on this last dynasty. and the tampa sports radio guys on saturday said the marlins attendance won't soar with a new stadium, and somehow, i think they may be right. a roof will attract a few thousand more a night, but i'm not sure if it will double the attendance.
