His defense does not justify his lack of offensive production. 2 HRs yesterday were meaningless, and he grounds out with men on 2nd and 3rd in the first inning today. :banghead 1B is stocked deep in the minors. Trade DLee now; get a pitcher. Bring up AGon#2. Do it, Beinfest. Do it now.

Even lead-foot Charles Johnsion has had 4 triples in his career (most recently in 1997).

..... the Marlins had a rookie come up and really have a break-out year? I can only think of Livan in 97, and that was just a half-year. AGon was an All-Star, but performance was not ROY caliber. CJ was solid but nothing to rave about. It's hard to believe that a farm system such as ours, which is consistently rated above average, has not had one real ROY candidate in 10 years. Comments?

The beauty of the vest/sleeveless jersey (aside from it being a constant reminder of the 1997 WS) is that (believe it or not) it's cooler than any sleeved jersey. Remember that all sleeved jerseys are mostly made of polyester, and that doesn't breathe at all. Even in black, a cotton t-shirt under a vest is way cooler temperature-wise. No team will ever adopt a 100% cotton sleeved jersey, because (even though they are comfortable) they don't hold over time up to wear and washing.
