Fishes on the Pond

I had a dream last night that Hanley got 4 hits tonight, so we'll see :# Did the 4 hits mean he got on base 4 times????? :whistle

This is by far the toughest challenge for the Marlins in this series. If we can win tonight, we can sweep the Phillies, if not..2 out of 3 won't be bad. But if we win tonight, this sets a good tone for the rest of the series I sure thought the same thing this last weekend, but it didn't happen that way. I sure thought we would have won the JJ game  Hope we can sweep :notworthy but winning the series would be great :thumbup Just continue to take every series at least and it will be great baseball to watch.

I may be imagining this, but it seems like we have designated for assignment more players this year than we have in the recent past. I'm not saying that those who have been DFA'd shouldn't have been. It just seems like we are doing it more often. :confused What to you guys think?

Yeah. I guarantee the Nats have placed many more players than just Dunn on waivers. You could say the same about ever organization. Any idea if the Marlins are one of them and if so, who do you think are on waivers?

Had to be expected.. I'm assuming Sean West gets the call for Tuesday's game and Sosa gets sent back to AAA Yep pretty much this. And thank God they sent him back to the minors, he needs to be starting, if you want to control his innings or PC do it down there not while the MLB team is in a playoff hunt. PLAYOFFS?!?!?!?! Did somebody say PLAYOFFS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :whistle :lol I've been one of the people here who hadn't given up... Please watch the attached commercial and you'll understand why I said what I did :lol

Does anyone have footage or photos of Cody pitching? Didn't abother position player have to pitch that game too? Jason Wood

I really enjoyed the postgame interview with Dan. He was extremely gracious, and humble. Dan thanked the organization for giving him the chance to play. I thought it was really great that he expressed it. If it weren't for the "fire sale" and Beinfest having to look for cheap players, Dan may have never go the chance to play. His is a "male" Cinderella story, lol . And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :notworthy Many more years as a Marlins, Dan :thumbup And many more times I want to hear........and is name is........DAN UG-GLA!!!!

Marlins are feeling lucky and are gonna throw off the Phillies by starting Cody Ross . :lol Ross is SOME pitcher too. His ERA is 0.00!!!!! :notworthy Can't get any better than that!!! :lol

Its either overpay, or you aren't getting him Yup. And I think that Dan is so thankful that we rescued him from the D-Backs' minor-league scrap-heap via Rule 5 that he'll sign a somewhat or perhaps even majorly under-market-price deal to stay HERE. As he apparently said about a multi-year deal with the Marlins, "that would make me a very happy man." His agent would probably prefer that he keep his mouth shut. That was an expression on his part that he wants to stay with the group of guys he broke in and matured with as an MLB player, and that the money isn't that important. And why should it be? He's already, right now, set for life if he never plays another game. Who cares whether you get 6 or 8 or 10 million a year from here on out, when if you weren't playing baseball you'd be hard pressed to convince an employer that you were worth 50K a year? He's gonna earn at least 50 million over his career even if he plays here at a discount. The guy is living out something that's way, way, way beyond even his wildest dreams.

The best we can do in this Giant series is a split, but if there is such a thing as a moral victory, last night was it. It was awesome for the Marlins come back to tie the game and especially so with Sanabia only going 2 innings and the rest by the bullpen. Now......LET'S GO FISH!!! :marlins LET'S GO FISH!!! :marlins LET'S GO FISH!!! :marlins

Well Sanabia hasn't had the worst 1st inning tonight....Johan was worse What happened? 8 hits 6 runs in the 1st OOPS
