Nationals Place Adam Dunn on Waivers

Featured Replies

Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Nationals have placed first baseman Adam Dunn on waivers.

As Olney notes, teams now have 48 hours to claim the slugger. The Giants were somewhat interested in Dunn before the trade deadline and are likely to at least put a claim out. If a trade can't be worked out from there, so be it, but they'll at least block other contending teams from snatching him up. Dunn has a .933 OPS and 26 home runs over 377 at-bats this year for the Nats.

Not a big deal since all trades now have to be completed through the waiver wire, if someone makes a good enough offer you take it, if not you pull him off of waivers.

Yeah. I guarantee the Nats have placed many more players than just Dunn on waivers. You could say the same about ever organization.

Any idea if the Marlins are one of them and if so, who do you think are on waivers?

Not surprising, but the Nationals would probably have received more via trade had they done a deal prior to the deadline.

I think the Fish Cock block and try to claim him...and would put him at 1B or LF if they did get him.
