  1. I went by last weekend. It is awesome and surprising so much is done already. The stadium looks so huge for the property. How many parking spaces are there going to be? I don't see where they can put a parking garage. I'm a little worried of making the trip down there just find out there is no place to park. Not certain I want to park on any place on the street/someone's grass. Not sure there is much place to park  Does anyone have an update on the garages and the little dispute over them? I also saw some drawings that had parking lots adjacent of the grounds. Any word on those? Parking availability and pricing is going to be one of the many questions I have for the 6th. And probably where we will get alot of non-answers. I'm really concerned about leaving that area after a game because of the way the streets are. Just seems like it will be the traffic jam from hell. Pretty sure this http://www.miamihera...http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/04/23/1593688/after-delay-miami-officials-prepare.html answers all those questions. Let’s see. 6000 parking spaces for a 37000 seat stadium. That’s over 6 people a car. Where’s the share-a-ride parking lot? Or the trolley station?? Are the Marlins fan base going to become bosom buddies and catch rides? That would solve parking prices—we’ll share the cost!! Drove around the neighborhood and didn’t see any changes like someone buying up land. Streets are most residential so frequent stops and narrow. Still worried how to get there or out of there.

  3. No. Big Fox decided to broadcast the 7:00 game of LAD vs. NYY so I had to buy tickets tonight. I didn't want to miss JJ make history :cool I'll yell extra hard for everyone on the forum
  4. Wow, just wow, but not surprising given his feelings towards Gonzalez..... http://blogs.sun-sen...http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_baseball_marlins/2010/06/florida-marlins-braves-manager-cox-unloads-on-loria-over-gonzalez-firing.html “I know that guy [Loria] is unpredictable, but I was still….After everything [Gonzalez] has done for that guy, are you s——- me?, Cox told reporters before Wednesday’s game against the White Sox. “[The Marlins] have gone down to the end every year, playing their asses off. That guy doesn’t appreciate anything. He’s one of those guys that thinks you change [for the sake of change]. He’s always wanting to fire the coaches, always. That’s his history. The Marlins were out of contention the last couple years before the end. They played their axxes off to be the Mets' spoiler which I must admit was a lot of fun. And this year at times they played "flat". Was that Fredi's fault as some have said because his goal has been to coach the Braves next year? Maybe; he didn't move his family here like people suspected because has Miami ties. Or is the problem Loria doesn't know what Loria wants or doesn't know how to get it? Does he listen to his FO?
  5. Last night is like a lot of games lately. We get enough hits, but not enough in a row to score runs. The Padres had 8 hits; we had 7 yet they had 3 runs. Like others have said poor Volstad pitches a good game but no one scores runs for him. Or half axx attempts catching the balls. "lollygate" :confused
  6. I also want to know why people think he's such a great manager. I don't think anyone really considers him a great manager, I just think people realize there isn't a whole lot of proven success out there right now that would be a decent fit and there really isn't anyone from within our organization worth a damn as far as I'm aware. You take what you can get, if there's nothing but pennies for you to choose from may as well pick the shiniest one. Has anyone in this thread said he is a great manager? I'm not even sure anyone has said he is a great fit. Maybe one or two. Or maybe in other threads I haven't read. Seems to me the mindset is that he is going to be the next manager and are discussing that. Looks like Loria had him pegged last off season and is now getting his way. It has been drilled into the fan base that he will be next. And I'm not 100% it will happen. Those negotiations would be interesting to listen in on. Will they announce a new manager before they hire Carlos' and Pressley's replacements so all three come in at once? Or will the new manager be hired and managing for a period before they do interviews for the other two? Do you think if it is Bobby as the new manager that part of the negotiation will to bring in his own people? Seems to be it would be harder midseason then post season.
  7. Waltz and Hutton mentioned during the game that Houser went back down to the minors. Yet Admin posted Houser was DFA'd. What's right? DFA'd. He may very well end up in the minors but he'll have to clear waivers first. He was removed from the 40-man and Veras took his spot on it. Isn't that a little harsh seeing it was his major league debut? Especially since the bullpen has been a revolving door.

  9. The rest of the division is winning!!! When are we going to get a break?? :banghead
  10. It's dead in here. Hope everyone is at the game I bought tickets for tomorrow because it isn't televised. Hope JJ continues making history.:crossfingers :crossfingers But it appears it may be in the rain I'm jealous of you. Gameday and the radio just doesn't do it for me. I can't stand it. Makes me nervous that gameday and VanHorne aren't in sync. Afraid I'm missing something.
