Nate Robertson
Is anyone else happy for the guy? 2 years ago our season was over and we brought him and Justin Wayne up. They both looked "Ok" and we held on to Wayne and eventually traded Robertson to the Tigers for Redman. Last year, Detroit brought him in late and he only started 8 games, but was actually decent despite the team. He had an 8 K game too. This year, it looks like he's put it all together and is 1-0 with 30 K's in just 22 innings. He also has a nice 2.78 ERA. I remember hearing a story on him two years ago that he was a Fish fan and bought tickets to the '97 World Series and went to some season openers. His dream was to pitch for the Fish and he did. Despite looking AWFUL 2 years ago, he was happy. Now he's lookin' real good in Detroit. ONE OF THOSE FEEL GOOD STORIES!

who is.....
the worst ESPN baseball analyst, or game announcer EVER. I pick that loser Cris Berman he is the worst announcer on ESPN. the way he talks, makes stupid comments and nicknames for players, the way he always complains about how many shirts he's down to, the way he stoled the "Back, back, back gone " crap . i hate him so much.... *leaves computer and begins to scream in violent and horrific fashion* I'm gonna agree. He's an idiot. I hate the dumb nicknames he makes for players and the way he's ALWAYS using his hands when he talks. He starts twirling them around and crap. Another idiot is Bill Walton. "I LOVE STEVE NASH'S LEFT HAND!" - Bill Walton and Steve Nash got an assist. "THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN, THROW IT DOWN!" Bill Walton telling Shaq to throw it down. "Robert Horry is SUCH a special player!" Bill Walton on how special Robert Horry is. "Nice passssssssssssssssssssssssssing." Bill Walton after every pass. EVERY pass. And the dude just looks like an idiot.

And the series Least Valuable Player is...
Alex Gonzalez WILL be replaced if this bad long slump continues. They are not going to come right out and say it but it will happen sooner or later. remember 97 when Castillo was the starting 2nd baseman? and at the begining they were saying as long as he plays great defense and if he wasn't hitting that it wasn't that big of a deal in that line up. not only was he great defensivly but he had great speed with the potential to steal 50 bases. and eventually he got sent down and replaced by Counsell who was inferior to Castillo defensivly and speed wise. and Counsell wasn't even a proven player, they just needed to get someone in the line up who could hit the ball. of course those are 2 diffrent situations, but my point is great defense will keep you in the line up for only so long. I think he will be replaced because this line up is weakened too much with him in there. and I like Alex, i don't think i couldve been more happy for another player if they had hit the game winning HR in Game 4 of the WS then i was for Alex, and i've been rooting for him to break out of his slump, i just don't see it happening for him unless he is benched for a significant amount of time or traded to another team. btw... i didn't know Alex was one of the main reasons Cabrera chose to sign with the Marlins instead of the Yankees and Dodgers who offered him more money. (heard that last night on espn) Hopefully if we trade Alex of bench him, Cabrera won't get pissed.

I never even said Nunez should be an every day starter. Hell I don't even rememberhow this turned into an Abreham Nunez discussion when this is about Alex Gonzalez.

I don't know about you guys...
You guys are so freaking negative. Haven't you learned that numbers don't mean crap? You guys were probably freakin' out when we were down 3-1 and had to face Prior and Wood because they had never lost back to back. The fact is, our current team has no record Vs The Rockies and Giants in Colorado and San Francisco. I have no idea how they'll play but I know they'll try to win.

Nunez has had 5 Hits and 5 Total Bases....? with 4 Strikeouts...? nothing to get excited about What the hell do you mean "nothing to get excited about?" When a guy does great in the minors, you want him on your team. When a guy does great in Spring Training, you want him on your team. So now that he's in the majors, he could finally prove himself. But he can't because he get's no playing time. Look at Cabrera, he got the chance to improve because he was our everyday LF. Some thing with Dontrelle. How do you think players improve? You have to play them to find out what they're all about. I'm glad your not a manager because you think that because Nunez doesn't come through a couple times he shouldn't be playing. What the f*** is that? That's ridiculous. Even the best players in the MLB aren't hitting 1.000 with 100 homers and 200 RBI's each year. You take what you can get. And we can get Nunez so why not start him? I'm sure Conine wouldn't mind getting some days off. First off, calm down, no need for profanity. Secondly, I never said he shouldn't play. All I said was that he hasn't really proven himself yet, to merit a starting role over our current talent. McKeon is starting to give him a little more playing time and he is not taking advantage of it. Sooner or later he MUST or he will be gone. What you do in the Minor's or in ST means NOTHING if you can't do it at the Major league Level. Nunez has not proven he can YET, that's not to say he won't but you make him seem like he's done great things this year and he HASN'T. You're basing it on a couple at bats. Cabrera was 0-4 in his first major league start and then hit a walk off. Jack didn't take him out. Jack let him play. You're basically saying "Well he hasn't proved anything in the first month of the season so there's to reason to play him anyway. If a rookie can't get it done in limited at bats, he should sit." C'mon your not honestly comapring Cabrera to Nunez? Nunez has had a chacne in the majors before and did nothing, he is getting chances this year and still hasn't proven anything. I am not saying he is a bust but by no means do you jeoperdize your ball club by starting him when we have proven talent to start in his place. If he was our ONLY option then fine, I could see your argument of letting him play giving him a chance to break out..... But he is not our only option and therefore will only get limited starts until he starts to prove otherwise. PERIOD! I am in no way comparing Cabrera to Nunez. That's just silly. And he had a chance before? I don't call 17 AB's a chance. You act like he's been starting every day for a few years and is hitting terrible. THAT'S NOT THE CASE. We have a good player who is fast (Something we REALLY need), see's pitches, walks, and as we saw in Spring Training, can hit for some kind of power. I don't want him out there every day, but sitting him on the bench and giving him AB's in the pitchers spot every game isn't really giving him a chance. Let him hit 5 or 6 and start a couple game sin a row. That's what being given a chance is. Not pinch hitting when the game is out of reach.

Marlins vs Rockies---9:05et---at Coors Field
It's because they flew out right after the game last night. Unless they slept on the plane, they didn't sleep much. They're probably used to that by now.

Does FSN re-broadcast games?
They used to repeat them, not anymore. Lies. They still do.

Note to people going to marlin games
I don't mind the people doing the wave, but i dont do it while we are batting or pitching, only in between. But one thing that gets on my nerves, is when people leave early. IF u saw the game yesterday people were leaving right after the Braves scored 4 extra runs!! I think it was like the 7th inning or something. What kind of fans are those?? Like we can't catch up to 4 runs having the 7th 8th and 9th inning left. I mean i bet u anything, when the marlins see that they feel like its over becuz the fans feel that its over. They probably don't even realize it, but it creates such a negative vibe when u see the once full crowd go empty! I stay there till the end! i dont care what the score is. Yeah, I REALLY hated that. Shows just how many badwagoners we really have. Hopefully it was because it was a school and work night and everyone was on a time limit anyway. But The Fish got their money, so it's all good.

Does FSN re-broadcast games?
I can't watch the Marlins@Rockies game on Tuesday night but I would like to record it on my Tivo when it repeats later that night. The thing is, I checked my DirecTV guide and it says the game repeats at 3am, however when I checked the FSN Florida website TV guide it says the game repeats at 12am and at 3am it's "paid programming". Which one is it? The reason I ask is the Marlins@Rockies game on Tuesday night is on at almost the same time as the Heat@Hornets playoff game so i'd like to watch the Heat playoff game live and Tivo the Marlins game that re-airs while i'm sleeping and watch it the next day . Thanks It's replays at 3. I checked the schedule just now. But remember, it's not the whole game. It's only 2 hours of it so you may miss some stuff.

Deny it now Bonds Fans
Still 0 proof. I would lie and say I gave them to Bonds and Jones and the rest to save my own ass, most people would and even if he did: 1. It was legal in MLB, so it wasn't cheating 2. Steroids doesn't players the things that makes Bonds great: The quick swing, the eye for the ball, the patience at the plate How the hell are you gonna say Steroids don't help you swing the bat. It makes you stronger which makes you faster so now all you gotta do is time the pitch. Barry isn't up there hacking away so he obviously tries to see what the pitcher will throw to him. Don't even talk about that "patience at the plate" crap because as a guy starts hitting homers, he get's more balls then strikes. But then again, why is he hitting homers?

And the series Least Valuable Player is...
I think Valdez should be brought up. We need his speed and defense on the bench, and he was just going to become Gonzalez and Castillo's backup any way so no need to get him at bats in AAA. Re; Nunez/Conine Because Conine is a righty that basically means Nunez is the starter just like how Choi is considered the starter in the Choi/Cordero platoon. Nunez has proven nothing except that he can come to the plate to hack and strike out. Conine has shown too much commitment to the club and performed too well in the field and at the plate (see hits, and working the count) to be benched. Perhaps we haven't been watching the same Nunez this year. I'm not sure which Nunez you are talking about. The Abraham Nunez I have been watching is showing very good discipline at the plate. He has 5 hits in 14 ABs with 3 walks and 4 Ks. A .357 average. He has continued to improve with each game played. He needs to continue to get starts as he is progressing well. I agree with you that I would like to see Valdez called up....he could replace Harris on the roster. How many RBI's? Extra Base Hits? Runs Scored? Those are the stats I care about The guy get's not chances to prove himself. How a is a pinch hitter in the pitcher spot gonna get a shot for an RBI when Alex Gonzalez can't even get on base? And Castro can't get on base either. If you noticed, he bats 6 when he starts. So if he get's on base, he has Redmond/Castro, A-Gon, and the pitcher to drive him in. Don't blame the lack of RBI's and Runs on him when Castro, A-Gon, and the pitcher don't do crap (Except for Dontrelle) either. He doesn't get the chance.

sit Gonzo. dumbest idea to date he is in for his glove.... and the bat will turn around, give him till the end of May before you want him kicked out of South Fla I stopped listening to you a long time ago.

Todays attendance
D00d. It's a late SUNDAY school and work night game. Close to 30,000 is pretty damn good. Last year we probably would have had 18,000.

Do I win? JP 4-5 and scored a run. Even though we didn't win... >_>

I agree, some people overhyped Nunez. All I'm saying is Nunez and Conine need to platoon. Exactly. Nunez has looked great lately.

Uber, so now you support Nunez? about time man. Gonzalez is horrible. Valdez would be a better starter than Mordecai. I've always liked Nunez but the fan boys are annoying. :confused

And the series Least Valuable Player is...
I dont like his production either but there are numerous plays he saves every game. Have of those hits down the middle should be hits but its near impossible with Gonzo. He will get better. how long have we been saying that though? Since at least 2000. Face it he is not a major league hitter. Two more weeks of this and I hope Jack seriously considers Easley to start for now, and have Sea Bass come in for defensive purposes. EXACTLY! You can't say that every time a guy slumps. It doesn't work. He's crap. Plain and simple.

Can we face Reality....
IF....Spoon isnt a guarantee this season. Would be nice but I wouldnt hold your breath. Hopefully he'll pitch a little though.
