Note to people going to marlin games

Featured Replies

i sat in the upper deck for tonights game on the first side, ofcourse the game was great. but somethings bothered me. .

don'T Stand up and call your "homies" so they can see you.

If you are going to arrive in the 5th inning and plan to leave in the 7th don't act like you everything about baseball.

the most annoying thing of all: i don't to need the count, that's why they have scoreboards.

i don't need peanuts shells all over me.

if you are sitting in the upper deck along the lines , don't lean forward we can't see the game.

No,i'm not selling you my Josh Beckett photoball for $9.00

No, Detroit isn't going to win the WS.

i don't need to see you on tv waving on your cell.

NOTE TO "SUPER BANDWAGONER FANS": Don't switch allegiances with a team every time they get a run.

wow

how old were these kids?

YO HOMIES!! IM ON TV!!

Everyone likes to be able to be seen on TV but flagrant displays that distract or obstruct the game to others is not needed. You don't have to be visible to 747's flying over head. Wear crazy outfits, paint your face or catch a foul ball to get on TV.

Well I'm on the big screen a lot.

It dosent take much to be on it...Its not such a big deal.

And sometimes I was on TV because I'm on the big screen so much. But I didnt get to see that for myself. People just said that they saw me. I dont know it for sure even though they knew what I was wearing...etc.

You know what the real new trend of the band wagon fans is? Pick fights! I was at the game last night and there were a couple of Braves fans. . . . The life long marlins fans since this year were picking fights and taunting them. How classless. ONe of the things I love about going to those games is that people don't act the same as they do for the Dolphins games.

I have season tix for both and there is a fight a minute in the upper deck.

What I hated was how people kept going up and down the aisles. I had an aisle seat and man I was getting pissed. They kept blocking my view!

"...if you are sitting in the upper deck along the lines , don't lean forward we can't see the game."

We lean forward so WE can see the game. Maybe you should have bought better seats or spring for $10 and buy a stadium cushion.

So far we've found the upperdeck to be far better than the terrace boxes we had last year. Perhaps we're just lucky but our section is populated with 20 game and 41 game season ticketholders and it's becoming like a family. We're lovin' it!

What I find annoying are fans who have to make everyone get up at key points in the game. Why can't they show a little courtesy and wait to go between innings, or at least between at bats?

I hate doing the wave in the 1st inning.

The wave in a baseball game seems odd.....but why not?

We should do it when our opponents are pitching, not when we are on the mound....as it could distract the pitcher.

We should do it when our opponents are pitching, not when we are on the mound....as it could distract the pitcher. and we should do it later in the game during the excitement, not in the top of the 2nd

This starts most of the time in my House, so I guess that is maybe why it annoys me so much.

I have started to absolutely hate the wave. It is a baseball game. I don't care if we are in a football stadium. The wave is not to be done the entire game. The first time is cool, but don't keep doing it because it happened once. Let it end, let it be. And it is kind of cute the first time you try to start it. But when you are trying for about 4 innings and it doesn't go, maybe it is because NO ONE WANTS TO DO THE WAVE AT A BASEBALL GAME. But of course people are stubborn and keep doing it. These people should be dragged outside and shot.

Sing. Sing in spanish. Make it like a soccer game but cooler. Chant stuff. Chant funny stuff. Chant stuff in spanish. Chant funny stuff in spanish. Have fun with the thing. I'm sure we can come up with good ideas for little traditions to start that are only done in Miami. But please, don't keep doing the same stuff over again. It's annoying, it's boring, and I don't care that you aren't paying attention to the game because I am so leave me alone. Taunt the players, don't give me crap because I won't throw my hands in the air while Alex Gonzalez strikes out.

People are entitled to have a good time when they pay their money and attend games.

I hate the wave, but if people want to come (which they didn't for years) and they want to do a wave, I say go for it.

There's a mother and her four daughters (she's maybe late 30's, her daughter late teens, early twenties) about five rows above me who chant and dance and really have a ball at the games. They cheer and scream and boo and it's really infectious.

I guess I'm enjoying all the bandwagoners or whatever you want to call them. It's great to have the stadium filled again, it used to be so depressing to go and see all the empty seats. If nothing else they've shut up the local sports media, and especially the Herald which almost with glee, reveled in reporting the daily falling attendance of the once laughingstock Marlins. If for no other reason, I'm lovin' all our new fans.

I think the players appreciate it too. We've seen numerous quotes from players who recognize that people are coming out to see them. They have fans now. Jack regularly says things like "we didn't give them a good show last night" or "the fans got to see a great game tonight" recognizing the importance of a fan base. Attendance-wise, I bet we stack up well this season at 31,000 averaged and a terrific 42,000 last night.

As long as they don't turn into "CubsThugs" I welcome anyone who wants to attend a Marlins game and if they want to do a wave in the first inning nothing will make me happier. Just keep coming.

10000000000% in agreement...

I just love seeing the stadium full. I never get to go to the games and seeing people in the stand cheering the way they were last night is amazing. People always said that the "12,000 people that were there every night could make it seem like much more because of the noise" If the stadium is full the I am happy. Yes they might be annoying, but would you rather have 12,000 cool fans there or 30,000+ fans going crazy

Thank you! :thumbup

Who cares if they do the wave. Let them have fun. Don't be so picky. If you don't like it, don't do it and that's that.

Miri, we have the right to our own opinion, and if we want to concentrate on the game we should be able. People standing up doing a wave in the game is not good. I would prefer if they wouldn't do the wave.

Last time I checked people were going to a baseball game, not church. If they pay for their ticket they can do or yell whatever they want.

So how are you planning on making them stop? If the majority of the fans want to do the wave, then just let them have their fun.
