Libelula
YOU GUESSED IT! I like the guy but damn, even his defense has been bad lately. He's been shaky on the field. Let's take a look at his stat line! 1-12 1 RBI 3 LOB 4 K 0 Walks Error
Flamarlins3
I was a big supporter of AGON last year but since the all star break last year he has been hitting .197. That jus does not cut it. As much as I like him, and as much as I love the way he nonchalantly makes tough plays look easy in the field. His hitting is brutle right now. I almost kind of hope that he gets suspended and maybe that will somehow knock some sense into him. Blah, its frustrating, but in any mid season trade I think this position needs to be looked at first even before the bullpen because I hate to see AGON come up to bat. He is in a 0-2 count every single at bat. Its not like he is battling that much he is swining and missing a ton or swinging at a bad pitch. Guest FishFanInPA
Wow...surprised the Marlin police hasnt jumped on this thread yet. Your preachin to the choir...Once his defense goes...there is no use for him. I'm ready to call Valdez up. Be careful though, any bashing of Alex might be taken wrong by others on the board. Flying_Mollusk
I dont like his production either but there are numerous plays he saves every game. Have of those hits down the middle should be hits but its near impossible with Gonzo. He will get better.

Screw Valdez, put in Morde. He went 1-5 and only struck out once and scored a run when A-Gon got thrown out against Philly. He's also faster than Gonzo and his defense is terribly underrated. Oh well though. You people can stick to your "We need his defense" arguements. It's getting ridiculous how much he sucks lately. He looks like a pitcher and is even swinging at pitches that are gonna hit him. When he get's a hit, you almost think that it's lucky. Dude's got 9 hits in 58 at bats. And what good is defense when he's not gonna produce AT ALL in the line-up? It's always 0-2 and you can't even count on him in the clutch. I was a supporter last year when he was struggling but he's just crap now. Or put Nunez at right and Cabs at SS.

Face it he is not a major league hitter. Two more weeks of this and I hope Jack seriously considers Easley to start for now, and have Sea Bass come in for defensive purposes. WildMarlinMan2003
Uber, so now you support Nunez? about time man. Gonzalez is horrible. Valdez would be a better starter than Mordecai.

rferry
I think Valdez should be brought up. We need his speed and defense on the bench, and he was just going to become Gonzalez and Castillo's backup any way so no need to get him at bats in AAA. Re; Nunez/Conine Because Conine is a righty that basically means Nunez is the starter just like how Choi is considered the starter in the Choi/Cordero platoon. Nunez has proven nothing except that he can come to the plate to hack and strike out. Conine has shown too much commitment to the club and performed too well in the field and at the plate (see hits, and working the count) to be benched. Maybe Pierre and Cabrera need a rest instead of the guy who hit a home run the night before and had pwn3d Thomson.

Perhaps we haven't been watching the same Nunez this year. I'm not sure which Nunez you are talking about. The Abraham Nunez I have been watching is showing very good discipline at the plate. He has 5 hits in 14 ABs with 3 walks and 4 Ks. A .357 average. He has continued to improve with each game played. He needs to continue to get starts as he is progressing well. I agree with you that I would like to see Valdez called up....he could replace Harris on the roster.
FishFanPR
We ain't going to see Jack sit Gonzo and play Easley on a regular basis...come on people, you know better than that!!! Gonzo is our starting SS, either we like it or not...I certainly don't like it either. Yet, I'd like to see Easley get more play time at SS, but it's not going to happen. I haven't been able to watch every game but the first image that comes to mind when I hear his name is the hacking he was doing in Atlanta. How about this? Nunez starts three times a week in place of each outfielder and takes over the role from Harris as primary lefty pinch-hitter. That should give him a chance to see what he could do. Ramp
sit Gonzo. dumbest idea to date he is in for his glove.... and the bat will turn around, give him till the end of May before you want him kicked out of South Fla

Shamrock
The thing you people need to come to realize is that neither Mordy or Valdez is a batter option than A-Gon. Face the facts.

Mordy could at least hit over .200...The stats are there. Agon has probably one more month to prove himself, and if he doesn't turn it around it could be bye bye AGon.
