  1. Can't season tix holders buy season parking passes? Yes, but my parents don't. Unfortunately it's not up to me. They go to about 20-30 games and give the rest to me and friends of theirs. To them it's not worth buying parking passes for the whole season when they aren't using but 1/4-1/3 of the tickets.
  2. Well, I just moved to Boca in mid-September, but I went to more games following the move than before because of the pennant race. I just take my parents season tickets so games are free, except for parking and that $9 busts my a** and keeps me from a few games every year.
  3. What if you do go?
  4. LOL.. i love the "JETER SWALLOWS" number shirt That's the one I wore to game 3.
  5. I only jumped ON the bandwagon after they dumped everyone last time so this could make me love them even more. I just love a loser. But, I was wondering who you think represents "the core" though? I'm having trouble picking and choosing. Is payroll the only factor or do you throw in youth vs. experience, etc etc blah blah...
  6. Great place fore anti-Yankees shirts: www.thesucksguys.com/
  7. LMAO :lolup Good stuff.
  8. Now that group being there could actually get me to go to a Heat game again.
  9. You mean no one picked him up? Let me try and suppress my shock. And how much attitude are the Red Sox in for next season since Manny knows they tried to dump him? Ramirez still belongs to Boston Red Sox slugger on waivers goes unclaimed By Ian Browne / MLB.com? ? BOSTON -- For 48 hours, premier slugger Manny Ramirez was available to 29 teams. A simple waiver claim was all it would have taken to pry a hitter who is all but automatic to hit .300 with 35 homers and 100 RBIs every year. But in the end, the price tag -- close to $100 million dollars for five seasons -- was apparently too stiff. And that's why Ramirez is still a member of the Boston Red Sox, two days after they reportedly put their high-priced cleanup man on irrevocable waivers. More than one hour after today's 1 p.m. deadline passed, a club spokesman confirmed that Ramirez was still property of the Red Sox. Additionally, The Boston Globe reported on its website that Ramirez cleared waivers. As per rules of Major League Baseball, the Red Sox were not able to confirm or deny if Ramirez was placed on waivers. Though Ramirez won't leave the Red Sox via the waiver route, this story doesn't figure to end here. The Red Sox, faced with major decisions regarding player salaries this winter, are likely to explore trade options with Ramirez in order to ease their payroll. The team already has nearly $85 million committed to 11 players for next season. Several other players could get significant raises in arbitration. Ramirez has five years left on the eight-year, $160 million deal he signed with Boston's former ownership group in December, 2000. The current regime, led by the ownership group of John Henry, Tom Werner and Admin Lucchino, is left to foot the bulk of the hefty tab. And general manager Theo Epstein is the one responsible for fielding a championship-caliber team at a cost his bosses can afford. While Ramirez is under contract for five more years, star shortstop Nomar Garciaparra and ace Pedro Martinez both have pacts that expire at the end of the 2004 season. A considerable part of the core -- Derek Lowe, Jason Varitek and Trot Nixon -- will also be eligible for free agency at that time. With Ramirez's hefty salary still on the books, it will certainly be a challenge for the Sox to sign the majority of those players to long-term extensions. The Red Sox will likely be hard-pressed to trade Ramirez without picking up a substantial amount of his salary. There might not be a trade out there that works, in which case Ramirez will be back for a fourth season in Boston. If that's the case, Ramirez will be fine, according to agent Jeff Moorad. "He'll be just fine if he's back in Boston next season," Moorad told The Boston Globe. "After an initial adjustment period, Manny has been happy in Boston and he will certainly continue to be that way if he's back in Boston next season. We understand that trades and waivers alike are part of the baseball landscape and business." The Yankees, Orioles and Dodgers, it was speculated, were teams that might have had the financial capability to pick up Ramirez on the waiver wire. But in the end, no team felt it could take on such a significant salary acquisition, albeit one with such a big bat.
  10. Them being on the same team will lead Cubs fans to the Bartman/Redmond conspiracy theory. He might even get a curse named after him one of these days.
  11. This was posted over at MLB.com Rays, Zimmer have not held talks By Paul C. Smith / MLB.com ST. PETERSBURG -- The Devil Rays and Don Zimmer have not had any official discussions about the former Yankees bench coach joining Lou Piniella's staff in Tampa Bay, according to the team. "Don Zimmer is a credit to the game of baseball, and his positive impact on the game is immeasurable. However, we have not had any contact whatsoever with him concerning employment with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays," said Chuck LaMar, senior vice president of baseball operations and general manager of the Rays. Piniella's staff already is complete, including bench coach John McLaren, who has been with Piniella more than 10 years and also came from the Mariners last offseason. Rays third base coach Tom Foley interviewed for Baltimore's manager position on Wednesday but he was one of seven people the Orioles have talked to. The Orioles are expected to name a new manager by mid-November. Zimmer, 72, is an offseason resident of Treasure Island, near St. Petersburg. He said during the playoffs that he would not be returning to the Yankees as their bench coach under Joe Torre. Zimmer may be interested in starting his 56th straight season in uniform a little closer to home. But there is no deal. Zimmer's son, Tom, told reporters on Friday that his father has never had any official talks with the Rays and that his father was confused after seeing a televised report to the contrary.
  12. No, it's always been Dade county, but it was unincorporated Dade forever. Now it's become a city, but I'm blanking on the name at the moment. Someone can fill in the blank I'm sure.
  13. I won the Margarita prize pack in the Halloween raffle at work which will make my Halloween much nicer. Hope y'all have a great night.
  14. Miami Marlins sounds cheesy like an independant league team or something. Just don't like the sound of it. :thumbdown
  15. Is there a Spring Training Schedule floating around anywhere?
  16. They are 100% sure that Castillo and Pudge will be wearring Cubs uniforms in 2004. I thought the Cubs were going after Lopez?
  17. I missed Kilborn cause I didn't think he'd be on so early or I would have left work even earlier than I already did. Was it worth me begging someone to make me a copy (with compensation of course.)? Please!
  18. Brad f***ING Penny ??? :lol Well, Penny is hot cause I like him, not cause he's HOT. It's kinda hard to explain...I don't think any of the Marlins are HOT, but they're adorable cause, um, yeah. They just are. I am so articulate tonight.
  19. Castro is ready for what, trial? How can you even compare him to Pudge?
  20. I think the pitching staff is strong without AJ. OF course it's stronger with him, but at the expense of Pudge it's just not worth it to keep him.
  21. Even I don't think Penny is an "A".
  22. Would we even want him here is the Marlins could afford him? I think not.
  23. His playoff performance made my year so he gets my vote.
  24. I say penis, but one that I'd never want to actually see in person or go near. :unsure :
