Red Sox place Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers

Featured Replies

Could be interesting... especially if we trade Encarnacion. Only problem is he has a huge 8 year 150+ million contract on him.

come on thats ridiculous, he's definitely not coming to south florida

Would we even want him here is the Marlins could afford him? I think not.

If we could afford him, f*** ya I'd want him.

But it's just not an option.

no 1 will claim ramirez and this is why:

why pick him up and spend 20 million a year on him when you can offer that kind of money to VLAD whos better?!?!?!?! NUFF SAID.

Maybe because Manny Ramirez is a great hitter and is by all means the same hitter as guerrero. They both hit for power and carry there team. Manny carried the Redsox...of course they will sign him

yes but manny isnt a 5 tool player like guerrero. VLAD can do it ALLLLLLLL steal you 40 bases if you let him. hes got a great glove. hes arguably got the best arm in the majors. and ramirez has nothing on VLAD there. thats y no 1 will pick up ramirez and spend 20 million a year on him when they just offer VLAD 20 million a year and have him come to your team and hes better than ramirez

Manny carried the Redsox

:lol :lol :lol

So that's why they have been to one playoff since he arrived and that on The Back of Ortiz, Nomar, Mueller and a thing called Roleplayer's.

Please say it again that he carried a team that had Pedro, Lowe, Nomar, Ortiz, Mueller(You know the guy who led The League in BA).

Where do we draw the line on who we think is coming here? I haven't heard Greg Maddux yet.

LMAO!!!!! MANNY RAMIREZ?!!!!!!!

Why would we want a fat, no hustle, streaky, cocky, arrogant, player like him when we have Lenny Harris?

Just kidding Lenny, I LOVE YA!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! MANNY RAMIREZ!!!!!!

the braves will get rid of maddux-who said we wanted him?-we dont need a starting pitcher so much-were prob. gonna lose luis-we shoudl be more worried about a 2b.

Thats what everyone said about Pudge....."He has no chance of coming"

And he did

There's a huge difference between a 1-year deal for $10 million with $7 million deferred, and a 5-year deal at $20 million/year with maybe $10 million deferred. This isn't even remotely realistic. Some team like the Tiger or Brewers should pick this guy up. They have no payroll, and could use a "free" (as in, he won't cost them any prospects to add him to their team) HOF-er like Manny.

Maddux?

Hmmm....

If you think about it, that makes a little sense, we could afford it.

We're in a perfect park for his style. Future HOFer.

I wonder if they would be able to pull off a shocker deal, ala Pudge.

I'm talking crazy...
