I rarely root against players on the Marlins, but Damnit, I really want to see Gregg get destroyed. ..and the marlins still win. But the marlins won't do anything even if gregg DOES get destroyed.

If Henderson Alvarez isn't an all star, especially after today's start the league clearly just doesn't care much for the Marlins or watch their games. When Jose was actually playing in the All-Star game, the broadcast basically ignored him. So it isn't just the league, but Producers as well.

It's easy to complain about Salty. But he remains a much needed upgrade over the Mathis/Olivo/Brantly combo of last year.

I just don't understand. Gregg has proven that he still sucks, yet the Marlins refuse to have anyone else pitch the 8th if he is available. They give crappy veterans the longest leashes but dick the youth around like crazy.

Why is gregg still the setup man, and why is Alvarez being taken out so early?

I probably would've left him up. Hand isn't really any better, and Heaney seems like the kind of guy who isn't going to get much out of another AAA stint. He was a control pitcher who had control issues at times when he was up. He also didn't locate pitches as well as he is known for, leading to the big HRs. He isn't losing anything by being sent down, but I don't think he's gaining anything either.

Barring a major collapse in the next few innings or an injury, I don't see how Henderson Alvarez doesn't make the All Star team. Not a big name or on a big team or putting up big numbers (aside from a great ERA). So unlikely. Expect stanton to be the only one (since cishek has really struggled in a couple of recent outings) and he probably won't even start.
