May 16, 200323 yr I heard on ESPN that the reds could user alot Luis Castillo. They said the Marlins arent going to sign him next year since his Contract Expires. We really need lowell more since we already have Pierre we dont really need Castillo but i would love to keep him. If we trade 'him to the reds they arent going to give up Dunn For sure. Maybe Casey Since he's been hurt and hasnt done much since his injury....
May 16, 200323 yr Author i only brought up dunn or kearns only if we sent a good pitch prospect (I would think Levinski, or somethin else) and some cash for castill would get us one of em. :hat
May 16, 200323 yr unfortunately it wouldnt.... they would want Beckett, Levinski and Castillo for one of them(being that health is an issue with our pitchers) in other words....Dunn and Kearns aint going anywhere
May 16, 200323 yr Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns are as untouchable as Kerry Wood and Mark Prior in Chicago. If we're going to trade Castillo and/or Lee (hoping Lowell stays), Beinfest should explore other clubs and see where we get the best deal out of..
May 16, 200323 yr I hope the marlins sign castillo. :whistle LiLLaz#8 there's only going to be money for one.. unless Loria finds some "special money" If I had to resign one of those three.. Lowell gets my vote... long term contract.. show the South Florida Fans you're committed..
May 16, 200323 yr Instead of the marlins wasting their money on pudge they should have signed the good players for big contracts. :whistle
May 16, 200323 yr Instead of the marlins wasting their money on pudge they should have signed the good players for big contracts. :whistle Pudge was suppose to be the BIG BOY of this lineup.. I still think he'll comeback and help this team out..
May 16, 200323 yr Instead of the marlins wasting their money on pudge they should have signed the good players for big contracts. :whistle Pudge is 'only' making $10mil.... therefore we couldnt of signed anyone to HUGE contracts like you say....
May 16, 200323 yr Pudge is 'only' making $10mil.... therefore we couldnt of signed anyone to HUGE contracts like you say.... 'Could have signed Cliffy for less than that per year...
May 16, 200323 yr Cliffy needs surgery.....and he is looking like crap. I would much rather see this team lock up players like Castillo and/or Lowell to long term contracts.
May 16, 200323 yr Cliffy needs surgery.....and he is looking like crap. Ok... How about Vidro from Montreal...? :whistle
May 16, 200323 yr Cliffy needs surgery.....and he is looking like crap. Ok... How about Vidro from Montreal...? :whistle i think we have a 2nd baseman already.... and Vidro wasnt a free agent anyway
May 16, 200323 yr Cliffy needs surgery.....and he is looking like crap. Ok... How about Vidro from Montreal...? :whistle why?
May 16, 200323 yr I meant TRADE for him... :banghead How many years are left on his contract...? again... WHY? how does he better your team and who would you trade for him? Question.
May 16, 200323 yr Castillo is a FA after this year... If Vidro has a few years left on his deal, then maybe we should go after him...?
May 16, 200323 yr We don't have the money to sign Castillo, so we get someone who is garenteed to play for us longer than Luis can...
May 16, 200323 yr IMO Castillo is better.. I like Vidro but Castillo fits into the style of play the Marlins want... speed.
May 16, 200323 yr McKeon's philosophy isn't quite the same as Torborg's you know... And I didn't mean JUST Vidro... He's just the main part of the deal... There are also other aspects...
May 16, 200323 yr I am tired of this crying of poverty.... If you want fans to show up... you need to a) win b) show some loyalty to your current players, especially top players
May 16, 200323 yr But wont castillo cost 4 mil this offseason? :mischief2 :hat I think he does RIGHT NOW...
