Just a Thought

Hey you guys, are you just plain ignorant on everything you say? We are usually a horrible second half team... Wouldn't you rather be a somewhat bad beggining team and a very strong finisher? With D-Lee and Pudge, they will help us do that. Lowell was only bad last year because of his hip injury that he refused to go on the DL for. Lowell will for the most part always be solid. Luis is always solid. Sea Bass likes the second half better too. Same with Todd. Juan P. is usually always solid, and Juan E. liked the beggining of last year, but had a bad transition to Florida that slowed down a pce for 30 HR.

Later on, we will prevail. Just keep your heads up high 'till that happens!

sorry Wild Card but we may be 25 games out at the break if Pudge or DLee cant start doing something meaningful..... pathetic

We won't fall back that far in the Wild Card race or the division, though close to it for the division. But look at the stats. Almost all our guys are mid-late season bloomers. Don't worry... The victoies will come... We WILL finish with 85 wins...

We're 10.5 games out.. so.. a streak now would help.. not after the All Star Game.. Atlanta would have to fall for us to rise..

85 wins wont get us the wildcard....

and if these guys cant turn it on before the ASB, alot of them wont be Marlins anymore

and if these guys cant turn it on before the ASB, alot of them wont be Marlins anymore I know, we probably need 95 to do that... BUT I just hope we can get that much or more with a late season push (which I gaurentee we will have) and prove the doubters (i.e. Gammons, Kurkjan) that this team IS, in fact, good.

85 wins doesn't do it.. and the way things are going.. Lowell, Castillo, Lee are going to be traded..

Pete Gammons on BT said that the Marlins were going to go with Sea Bass and Encarnacion as their leaders..

5 games over .500?

the time is NOW, or we wont have enough decent players to make a push

Do you think we will roll over and let someone have D-Lee? NO! I'm telling you, someone is going to pay a pretty hefty price for him...

And I gaurentee you Lowell isn't going anywhere. Forget re-signing pudge, Lowell is here to stay. The Front office knows when they don't sign Lowell, this franchise is done in S. Florida basically...

we cant get jack crap for DLee....

teams know we dont like him, teams know how bad he sucks with risp..... in fact there won tbe that many takers and the offers wont be great

Then they won't get him. If you are gonna offer a team next to nothing for a player like that, then you aren't gonna get him. Look at what the Expos paid for Cliffy. That was a hefty price in prospects...

Cliffy was a good player.....

DLee is average with great defense

who wants derrek lee these days.....

lets examine the american league....

seattle...no

oakland..maybe (would be a stretch, but similar financial situations as the marlins)

anaheim...no

texas...no

cleveland...no

chicago..no

minnesota...no

kansas city..no

detroit...what do they have you would want in return...and still...no they have Pena, a fairly decent first baseman

new york...no

toronto...no

tampa bay...sure..what do they have to offer also..similar financial situations as well

boston...they have 7 million players for that spot already, if they could rid themselves of some other talent..then maybe

baltimore...maybe...but what do they have to offer.

national league...i will leave for someone else to look at.

DLee is average with great defense

AVERAGE?!?! So the best ( I really mean that) defensive 1st baseman in baseball all of the sudden is average? I would give up my top prospect if I were another team just to have that 'Average' defense on my field... The bat would be extra...

Cliffy had average D...

Cliffy had average D... CAN YOU READ?

he is average WITH GREAT DEFENSE

ok Wild Card

Find me a team that realistically could use Lee.

Then find something that would make sense in a deal.

Go at it.

Here is a thought, one I tried to start on ESPN.com's message board but wasnt able to see the results. How about Lee to Minnesota for Mienkiewicz and a prospect? Lee wont do as well as he should be at JRS -the field hurts his power. But in Minnesota, he may explode. Lee has defense, power, and speed - things which any team could use. Just a thought...

As for Lowell getting traded - dont bet on it. I think the front office knows that Lowell may be linked to any hope of getting a strong fan base. But if the Marlins cant turn it around and the fans arent coming anyway - why keep him? You got Cabrera ready to go, and you can get pretty much anything you want for Lowell. Plus we have a lot of 1 year deals coming up. I expect to see Lee and Castillo gone before Lowell. I think these 'reports' Gammons and others are leaking are wrong. There may be interest, but that doesnt mean that a deal is imminent. I swear, these guys have it in for the Marlins...but why!?

Reds? :mischief2

Reds could use Lee .. There i found u a team

Sean Casey.....

and if he fails, they move Dunn to 1st and put Guillen in his spot....

STILL NO SPOT
