I may be a bit biased, so I'll go for the PB/Broward border...although anything in northern Dade would be good by me.

Actually, I believe something near PPS would be best for everyone.

Why? The stadium is already there and attendance is crappy. People from Broward have had their chance and they blew it. It's Miami's turn!

Given that the Marlins don't want to walk away from Miami-Dade County's $73 million commitment and have to start all over over again with no government assistance in hand, look for the Marlins to focus their interest along the 95 and Florida Turnpike Extension areas in North Dade at or near the Broward line.

Having moved away from a downtown site and the new fans they expected to draw there, the next best option for the Fish is to, in political parlance, re-energize the base, and make themselves as convenient to Broward/PBC fans as possible.

Explain how PPS is any more convenient to the Broward fan than it is the Miami Fan ? Both comminutes share equally in any blame for the lack of attendance. Besides that the Marlins organization is as much to blame as anyone. First, Huizenga destroys the product, and for a couple years the Marlins are barely a step above a triple A team. They have had a decent product for the last 3-4 years but they expect the stadium to just fill up on it?s own. They need to be more proactive.

I went to an Atlanta game a couple years ago and the parking lot was full of charter busses. What Atlanta was doing was giving great ticket deals to every civic club, church group, and square dance club within 200 miles of the stadium. I have never seen more than one or two busses at PPS. Even with a great product they have to do more than give away floppy hats to fill the stadium.

Regarding the location, fact is everybody wants the new location to be convenient to them. That?s impossible. What is the best location for the fish?. Which means what location will attract the biggest fan base. The new site needs to have easy access ? which leaves out downtown Miami and the OB. And it should be convenient to populations centers with expendable in-come. That narrows it down. Of course, it will also make it close to were I live ; ) . LETS GO MARLINS

I pick Dolphin mall area.

If I was older and had the money....I would be a season ticket holder every year because I live like 5-15 minutes away.

I would love it.

I go to like 5-10 games a year because nobody wants to take me because it is

" too far " :banghead :banghead :banghead

Imagine that total if it got alot closer to my home. :wow :w00t :cheers :party

I think you get the point.

PPS is in Dade but essentially on the border with Broward. The most logical way to travel to PPS from most of Dade is by taking I-95 Northbound. Unfortunatley, basbeall games are played during rush hour traffic. If you have ever taken I-95 northbound on a weekday afternoon (which you may not have if you live in Broward) it is about 30 minutes from Downtown to the stadium. Heading southbound (against rush hour traffic) at this hour is much quicker. Nearly all of Dade's population has to fight this rush hour traffic going to Marlins' games yet heading south from Broward to PPS is heading towards the traffic. Sure there is traffic heading south at this time, but northbound is much worse.

Basically a this time of the day driving from Broward is much easier than coming from Dade.

They blew it! I think all of South Florida is to blame. It is an imaginary line, no one is putting up a wall to stop either side from going to the games. It is a bunch of BS. Just build the new park in an area where mostly everyone in the Metro area will feel safe, can get to by car, and by mass transit.

Also, I see the Panthers with good attendance, but I see a better Heat team with terrible attendance. What is going on with the Heat?

The Panthers sold out a game last week and probably aren't going to the playoffs, but the playoff bound and non-lockout Heat can't sell out games.

Welcome to Miami-Dade County... :lol

The Heat are getting there...attendance definitely has gone up.

It would be far-fetched to expect the Heat to suddenly sell-out games because of a playoff fun..it's still March and it's still Miami.

Yeah no. :thumbdown

And for me, anything just south of PP Park or on the Dade/Broward line is good enough for me :cool

I say that Hialeah Park is the best for everyone. Good neighborhood, central location and lots of land owned by the city.

im surprised to see that the broward-palm beach border is getting so many votes. it has come out looking like a cinderella here in march stadium madeness round 1

to my surprise the not in s.florida category got a vote! it was supposed to be a filler site like the keys and stay in s.florida

the site with the biggest disappointment is doral

I voted Palm Beach/Broward border.

But i live in west palm to.

I think somethin near pro player would make everyone happy.
