The Rings......

Featured Replies

I am also wearing mine on my ring finger. Those rings are pretty hott. Tasha are you trying to get someone to hit on you ;) .

Yeah I'm pissed I didnt get a ring. I got there around 5:20-5:30 and there were no more left. I went in through gate G and they were none left. Luckly the Marlins won so that kind of got me over it but now the craving is coming back.

Also by the way marlins2003 if Loria did it for the fans he should have made enough for everyone. At least 50,000. Also I'm sure they didnt give out to 30,000 fans. I bet many fans got more than one.

I WANT MY PLASTIC!!! :mad :

Ya there was a little over 40,000 people there and I barely saw people with those rings.

ITS A SCAM I TELL U!!!

Prime: How old? lol

Someone tries to do something nice and all everyone does is complain. If you wanted one so bad, you shouldve been there early. I couldnt get there early enough, so I knew I might not get one. Every other giveaway is for 10,000 fans and this was for 30,000, which is a lot more money for the sponsor to pay.

I got to the Stadium at around 4:30 and entered at Gate B. There was such a jam to get into the stadium and for the guys to make sure that everyone was getting their ring.

Soon as I got it, I opened up and looked at it and I was really surprised that it wasn't such plastic little thing but more of a real looking ring. Weighs a bit and it looks really nice. This one will stay with me forever.

I too also was surprised that there were Phillie players stretching and warming up while the ring ceremony was going on. A bit disrespectful IMO, because they wouldn't like it if another team was stretching on their field while a Championship ring cermony was going on. But all was done right with the game. Oliver struggled a bit, but thanks to Choi and Cabrera, the Marlins rallied from 3 runs down and really stuck it to the Phils.

Btw the ring is too small for my fingers :whistle

Tomorrow...its Beckett time. :cool

Unbelievable :thumbdown

I came in through Gate F, and it was mass pandemonium. First of all they waited way too late to open the gates. The crowd was huge at 4:00, and they finally opened the gates around 4:20.

It took quite awhile for the line to move, but everyone was orderly. The greatest problem was that people were making it through the gate much faster than the 3 people who were distributing the rings. It created a huge pile up of people.

But we finally got ours, and I can tell you they are much better than I expected. The are made of some alloy that is brass plated. The center has "Marlins" with 2003 World Series Champion around it. The side has the Marlins World Series logo...the one with the fish and starburst. Of course, Miccosukee got their logo on the other side.

But it looks real nice, not something from a bubble gum machine. But a ring you could actually wear. I wore mine on my pinky finger the entire game. Nice. :thumbup

I'm not really mad. I was mostly responding to the comment made by marlins2003. He describes Loria as if he was a god or something. I dont have nothing against the guy but he is still a MLB owner and business man so I'll reserve my judgement on him a couple years down the road.

And I was right outside the stadium at 5 but the stupid cops directed me toward another entrance right when I was about to get in. I had been waiting in the line of cars for like 15 minutes already. So I had to get in another line of cars and wait even longer. I also planned to leave my house at 4:30 and get to the stadium by 4:45 but I had to wait for my cousin and they had to go to downtown to pick up their tickets.

I know I'm rambling but just explaining myself. :confused

Unbelievable :thumbdown Whats so unbelievable. I'm just telling the truth. I'm not blasting Loria and the Marlins but I did expect to get a ring arriving more than half an hour before the game.

Nice.. So you have big hands! lol Are you going to tommorows game too?

Unfortuantely no. But I want to go to one of the Braves games when they come back from the road trip, so I'll be visiting PP Park quite alot this season. :thumbup

cool! I wanted to go to the 24th one. when the Beckett Photoball is given out.. but I have an exam that day.. Foreign Service Exam!! It's a all dayer.. and sure to be dead after it!!

Someone tries to do something nice and all everyone does is complain.? If you wanted one so bad, you shouldve been there early.? I couldnt get there early enough, so I knew I might not get one.? Every other giveaway is for 10,000 fans and this was for 30,000, which is a lot more money for the sponsor to pay.

I know I'm rambling but just explaining myself. :confused First of all any vehicular problems you might have had should be directed to Wayne Huizenga/PPS management as they run parking and logistics. Why would you insinuate that it has something to with the Marlins ownership when everyone in South Florida knows WH does parking.

Second, yeah I am enamored with Loria. He has ignored a mountain of scorn and ridicule and saved baseball in South Florida.

Perhaps you weren't here for the ugly, embarrassing days of John Henry or the Benedict Arnold days of Dave Dombrowski and Wayne H. Not too long ago we were the laughingstocks of baseball and looked upon as buffoons if we dared wear a Marlins cap or t-shirt in public. Now people are fighting over replica rings.

This didn't happen by accident. These guys are the real deal.

Your a cool guy so I'm not trying to pick a fight but until we get a stadium deal done here and I know the politicians are being ass holes down here, but until then he hasnt saved baseball because many could question the way him and Samson have handled this situation.

Leaving me huh? :thumbdown
