Guest FishFanInPA
I dont know if this was posted already but I found this nugget to be interesting: "They're gonna get theirs," Brett Myers said of the home team in the aftermath of Saturday's 5-3 Marlins win. "We'll get everything going at once, and once we start jelling, it's going to be trouble."
Mephisto
Yes is being posted before, and that @$$hole should have stayed quiet but in a way this is good for baseball and for the marlins. Because we're watching the deveploment of a very heated rivalry between these two teams.
Fishin2004
in order for something to be considered a "rivalry", the other team needs to win every once in a while
TSwift25
I was actually hoping that they'd throw at Choi or something yesterday and then we'd really have the rivalry going. Nothing is better for any sport than a bad blood fued. Yanks-Red Sox, Knicks-Heat, Lakers-Kings, all those rivalries were great because two good teams hated each other, hopefully the Marlins Phils develops into a quality rivalry like that. jonnylons
It already is that in my mind. I was hoping we would sweep those bastards and we did. They made all the moves, got all the press despite NOT winning. Myers can talk all the s*** he wants, but the fact is - they aint got nothing. The Phillies have NO soul. They looked defeated once the Marlins got going. They are not a confident team out there. I also feel that as good as they are on paper, they are a little bit overrated. You know, when the s*** hits the fan, the Marlins are not going to flinch. The Phillies have demonstrated they will over and over again. And until they get mentally tough, they will always melt under fire. Admin Bowa is just a volcano waiting to explode and that has to wear on their minds. I wish them luck, but not at our expense. But, screw 'em.
TarHeel324
philly may have the closer, but they dont have the pitching to get to him
Marlins2003
philly may have the closer, but they dont have the pitching to get to him It's not their starting pitcher per se, it's their offense that's missing. I could go and check their first series, but against us their starters performed well (not as well as ours) but it's not like we tagged any of them for 8 or nine runs. They do appear to have a problem with middle relief but who doesn't?
Hotcorner
Oh it's definitely their hitting that's missing so far. But I like this quote better..... "The one thing that they do that we don't is they believe," said Roberto Hernandez, who saw that same fight as a member of the Braves. There's not a game where they think they're out. This is not an easy place to come beat them because somehow, some way they know ..."

QuickGold
Team cant rest on Pat Burrell's shoulders. It's the offense, not pitching. Of course, giving up runs the way their middle pen did doesn't help any.
bman8316
I wish Beckett would have come out with a comment like that after yesterdays game, like yeah I owned them they couldnt hit anything I threw out them but he was too nice about it, maybe towards the end of the season he will make a comment like that. Expos Ranchod
Phils losing once again..4-1 to the Reds in the opening of their new park. How long until Bowa gets canned? for our sakes, hopefully never. :lol
