When bases were loaded and Castro was up at the plate? THat was a friggin' OBVIOUS ball, and he should have been walked.

BUt i'm not complaning becuz, a lot of good things came out of this game. MY boy Pierre, damn what a show he put on. Mike Lowell... whew, that boy can HITTT! And Justin Wayne got to pitch and he did very very well, and i'm sure now he feels like a completely different pitcher. :-D What a game!!! :D :)

I think you are right, but for the wrong reason. If Chad Fox wouldn't have piped a fastball to Ricky Ledee on a 1-2 count, the game would have been over much earlier :thumbdown . Our pitching staff is great, but I have noticed recently that our pitching staff has gotten a bit cocky at times and thrown fastballs right down that plate at the worst time (like Beckett challanging Chipper with a first-pitch fastball down the middle of the plate, when Chipper is a first-pitch-fastball hitter). Chad Fox is smarter than that. But we got the win, and it certainly set up some great heroics by Mike and Justin. Go fish!

The pitch looked pretty good to me. At least too close to take. Castro needs to be more aggresive in that situation and swing at a very hittable pitch. Instead he tried to con the umpire by tossing his bat and jogging to first on a very close 3-2 pitch. He's a career .232 hitter - he needs to establish himself a little first before he starts getting the borderline calls.

I loved this game and the way our guys played but Castro disappointed me, between that play and the lazy way he tried to pick up a throw to the plate from Gonzalez. I really wanted Castro to take the starting job but Redmond is looking better and better to me.
