Posted April 22, 200420 yr I havent payed much attention to this lately. So right now whats Ajs timetable when she expected to come back (Wondering now that ive seen oliver)
April 22, 200420 yr The Sun Sentinal the other day said that he is expected to make some minor league appearences in May. As for a target date a the date they said that looks the most likely right now is June 15. So start counting the days Fish fans.
April 22, 200420 yr Author When he comes back and takes the spot of Oliver there are gona be some series matchups likle Burnett/Beckett/Penny and the back 3 are good too Willis/Pavano/ Burnett
April 22, 200420 yr He will throw Two More Bullpen sessions. After that in he will throw batting practice a couple of times and then by the middle of May he will pitch in a couple of rehab or simulated games. Then he will probally be back June 15th.
April 23, 200420 yr Oh man. That means in any series we play two of the following three (Burnett, Beckett and Willis) starting. Brutal. Murderer's Row-tation.
April 23, 200420 yr I know that this is getting way ahead of myself, but I was looking at our June schedule, and I noticed that it is really easy. We only play 10 division games the whole month (4 against the Mets in Shea and 6 against the Braves at home and on the road), and the rest of the schedule is inter-league against some pretty weak teams (D-rays, White Sox, Rangers, Tigers), so are we making a mistake pushing AJ back for June? I mean, I'd rather let him take his time in the minors, getting his arm strength back and let him come back in July so we have him for the Phillies series. I say the sooner he comes back the better, but I don't think we need to rush him out for our June schedule, especially if it means he comes out of the pen...

April 23, 200420 yr Who goes down to the minors when AJ comes back? At first, I thought Justin Wayne would be the odd man out, but he has been great recently. In fact, I can't think of one guy in the bullpen I would want to see sent down.

April 23, 200420 yr i wouldnt mind waiting to tha ASB. and whenever it is that he comes back, i wouldnt like to see any pitch counts of 90+ pitches all year long. i say 5 - 6 inning starts should be the goal for his return. maybe, just MAYBE you can push it to full strengh come september and playoff time.

April 23, 200420 yr Screw those two. Their ERAs are in like the 2's! Â I think there's no reason to delay his return if he's not feeling any discomfort. Once he's completed his conditioning he should return to the rotation after the minor league rehab starts.
