Jack McKeon

Featured Replies

what the hell is going on with him right now?

he leaves in Pavano way too long..... you could see he was losing it and then he lets him pitch to Pierzynski who raked the baseball today

i know im missing other dumb things today

im so frustrated right now i cant think clearly

McKeon did not leave Pavano in too long. Pavano had only thrown 89 pitches when he walked Snow. And only had 102 pitches when he came out.

Luis Castillo was the right choice. We only needed a base hit. Now if we needed a home run or extra base hit, Nunez would have been the man, but we needed to get a 2-out hit and Luiy was our best shot (ok, maybe Redmond). And how was McKeon supposed to know Easley could mess up a routine fly ball?!

Sheesh!

We lost this game when Ramon Castro told Pavano to pitch around the fearful bats of Michael Tucker, JT Snow and Edgardo Alfonzo. Not to mention that OF #25 guy who produces an out 60% of the time when you actually pitch to him.

Castro told Pavano to pitch around Tucker, Snow, and Alfonzo?

I find that hard to believe.... seemed to me like Pavano was losing the strike zone

oh well, I hope DO pitches well enough tomorrow, thats all i ask

I odn;t know what Jack was thinking, but i;m sure he hasn't lost it... he knows what he's doing. I just dont like when we decide to walk guys....

I'm tired of this MR. *BONDS* talk. We walked him and i think he scored like 2 or 3 runs today. Run=Homerun. I think we should have took our chances if the guy hit 2 or 3 homeruns(which is doubtful, it would have been the same score). But we decide to walk him becuz he is *BONDS*. Other guys hit homeruns? right? But when *BONDS* hits a homerun its a garanteed loss on our part??? I don't so. *BONDS* isnt perfect, sure he makes good contact with the ball but he isn't a 100% type hitter! Didn't he ground out into a double play yesterday??? And fly out today? And how come we didn't lose the game where he did hit a homerun? I just think players are intimdated by *BONDS* and they shouldn't be. Homeruns happen in every game by different players... so what if BOnds hit a homerun? That doesn't mean they are goign to win! And what if he doesn't he could fly out right? But we didnt get any outs on him, but 1 i think. And walked him and he scored anyway so that's what cost us....

i don't know which game was more frustrating to watch, this one or the loss in Colorado with all the bad base running mistakes.

well. i'll look on the bright side, at least we lost against the Giants and didin't lose a game like this against the Phillies, that would have been 1000X worse.

So now McKeon is the scape goat? A new scape goat everytime we lose.

so what? he screwed up, the team screwed up, we lost.

And how was McKeon supposed to know Easley could mess up a routine fly ball?!

He should know that Easley is an infielder. You play players out of position and it usually comes back to haunt you and it did today.

All Jack is doing is spotting our players' weaknesses. That should have been an easy out for Easley, that was unacceptable... and then he just stayed there staring at the ball.. i think he forgot he was playing outfield for a sec and thought he was playing in... i love Easly but come on, it almost makes me wnat to laugh. I'm sure he'll clean that up now though... Jack wants the worst out of them and improve them to almost perfect....Look what he did last year???? He turned our guys completely around!!! I'm sure that's what he's trying to do with some of our new players...

A pitcher who was averaging 3 outs on 9 pitches consistently through the game just lost command of the strike zone?

Infielders don't catch fly balls?

You guys are really stretching.

rferry, it certainly looked like it to me

he walked Alfonzo on 4 or 5 pitches, same with Snow I think

Wa he crossing up Castro? Did Castro have to move his glove muchto catch his pitches?

How was he dragging his leg? That's another indication of tiredness.

I would have made some different changes in the lineup, but w/e

In Jack We Trust

more knee jerking.

see folks....i am not the only damn person doing that.

be sure to notice this.

look at our pen.....

a) the pen does not have jack's confidence as a whole right now.

b) pavano had not thrown THAT many pitches

c) jack has traditionally let his starters go longer.

pavano needs to get out of the mess. anything under 110 is not too many pitches in the jack system for the most part.

Infielders don't catch fly balls?

He had a problem reading the ball off the bat, and that's from not taking fly balls in the outfield.

Find me a manager that doesn't make any mistakes, and then maybe you'll have a valid point whining about McKeon.

The guy (along with D-Train) brought this team back from the dead last year, and helped them to win a world series. If he leaves a pitcher in too long once in a while, big deal.
