May 3, 200422 yr Peter Gammons' article today continued to speculate that the Marlins are trying to get him. Any idea how close we are?
May 3, 200422 yr Reidling is pretty good and is alot better than most of the garbage we have right now
May 3, 200422 yr this season in 10.2IP he has 0.82era and a whip of 0.66 his career era is 3.60 and his career whip is 1.36 he is 28 and is a righty
May 5, 200422 yr Sounds like the bullpen help we need. I would also like to see the guy we traded Blaine Neal for earlier (his name escapes me at the moment) to come up and start showing his talent. Our Bullpen started out hot and now they are showing what we all thought they were capable of achieving which is Sh*t. EDIT: I just remembered his name is Ben Howard.

May 5, 200422 yr Is John a soft tosser or can he bring the heat? Because we have enough soft tossers in our pen.

May 5, 200422 yr Our Bullpen started out hot and now they are showing what we all thought they were capable of achieving which is Sh*t. The defense blew today's game. This is true. The defense stunk it up today. 4 errors. I was asking myself, is this the Defense that won it all last year and it is not even close. -An older Conine -No Juan Encarnacion -No Pudge (Face facts, the man is probably best Defensive Catcher in the game) -No Gold Glover Derrek Lee who had experience with our whole infield This teams needs to start picking it up...NOW. :confused
May 6, 200422 yr The Cincinnati Enquirer RUMOR JUST THAT: Reds general manager Dan O'Brien said there is nothing to the trade rumor that has John Riedling going to Florida for outfielder Abraham Nunez. "I can answer that with one word: No," O'Brien said. The Marlins would like to have Riedling apparently, but the Reds have not offered him.
May 6, 200422 yr Good, I would rather have Abe than Riedling. I think their GM is still a little pissed after we ripped them off Encarnacion for Dempster.
May 6, 200422 yr Good, I would rather have Abe than Riedling. I think their GM is still a little pissed after we ripped them off Encarnacion for Dempster. and I would like to have someone thats halfway decent in our pen ... i dont ask for much, just someone decent Riedling > Perisho, Grasesqui, Wayne, Phelps ... and im not too high on Riedling
May 7, 200422 yr Good, I would rather have Abe than Riedling. I think their GM is still a little pissed after we ripped them off Encarnacion for Dempster. That GM was fired last year. This GM (Dan O'Brien) is very calculating and has a slow hand. He is somewhat of a yes man where as Bowden was a rebel of sorts. It took Jimmy Haynes 4 straight starts of doggy poo to get demoted. He deserved a release but his contract is fat (2.5 m) so we had to see if he can at least come in and pitch long relief. So now we have Todd Van Poopel as our #5. Trust me, Riedling is going no where unless FL gives up the goods. In 14 games (15 ip), Riedling has a 0.60 ERA, 3 BB and 13 SO. He may not have a big name, but this guy is lights out.
