May 7, 200422 yr i went to the game last night and it was very sad to see so little people at the game..there was a couple from detroit sitting behind me and my brother and they were saying wow i cant beleive we got such good seats to see the defending world champs cause we cant even get seats like this in detroit were we knowing were gonna get beat almost every night...the upper deck was empty... Upper Deck seats are not sold on weekdays unless absolutely necessary Only reason that Upper deck was open yesterday was because it was a game part of the 20 game Saturday pack which I went to yesterday with it. My first Marlins loss of the season I attend this season and first weekday game I attened not counting Opening Day. Felt so weird so empty in the Upper deck after those 35,000k plus Saturdays. I'm 3-1 so far this season. :afro

May 7, 200422 yr I've all ready thought of starting a petition to gaurantee my season ticket if indeed the stadium gets done, forgive me but i cant drive to the stadium because i dont have a car, and once i get there i cant pay the money for a seat because im broke. im not your prototypical fan but i have loved them since day one, so blow me. and especially getting ripped by some one from Pennsylvania, if your any where near Philly you should shut your mouth cuz your fans take the cake hands down.
May 7, 200422 yr Obviously you don't understand my comments....I stated that you are probably not the person I'm talking to since you have season tickets. Do you enjoy going to games with no one else there? Do you think the players like playing in front of orange seats? I don't know...maybe S. Floridians should support the team all season instead of just the playoffs. The Heat are the same story. By the way, If South Floridians had half the passion Philly fans did then you'd be better off.
May 7, 200422 yr Before I begin this rant, I must say that I love you all and don't know your individual stories so don't be offended. I just have to say that you are the worst fans in sports and I never want to hear anyone make fun of Atlanta and their lack of attendance. This team won the world series and now their getting 12k. You people, and you may, should all have at least 16-30 game plans and should support the team. You all cry when they discuss leaving the city but then instead of going, you sit on your butts and post on this board. Get out to the ballpark!!! It was the same case with the Heat....Hey, we're in the playoffs, let's go now! During the regular season, where were you? In Philadelphia, I have tickets for all the Marlins games, I'm goin to all the games at Shea. I'm making it my business to support the team. I can tell you this, if I lived in South Florida, I would probably have season tickets. Why don't you all? This is a joke...I'm sorry but it's something I had to get off my chest. You stupid retard. You come here and insult our fans and then say "PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!!111"! Screw you. We got 12K the other day because the HEAT were playing GAME 7! Last night, no one wanted to go. What's wrong with that? And it's a WEEKDAY. Wait until summer where kids can go to games and people are on vacation from work and then we'll see. Until then, STFU talking your stupid s***. No need to call people names...geez. Anyways People will come eventually. It is still an improvement over last year. Have to keep it going So it's ok for him to call us the worst fans in baseball? Even though we're not. We have proven that the fans WILL COME. Look at the New Jersey Nets, they win and go to the finals two years in a row but they still get no fans. We on the other hand, do get fans. No one wants to see a losing team though. I could understand that. And the Dodgers don't really bring anything SoFla wants to see on a weekday with the Heat playing. EVERY SINGLE TEAM HAS BANDWAGONERS, it's how you get fans. And the fact that we're still a fairly new franchise doesn't help either. We need to have a few more winning seasons and we'll get a decent fan base. Old teams like the Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, etc have tons of fans because they're old teams. No one in Chicago is gonna like the Marlins. No one in New York is gonna like the Marlins. And because the Marlins are still a fairly new team, some South Florida people like the Mets or Yankees more. Sticking to their team. And how could we be the worst fans when Montreal got 4,001 "fans" at a game a few days ago. Fairly new team huh...I'm sorry...10 years of existence is plenty enough for people to have formed their opinions. I'll back off the worst fans in sports comments but it is shameful for a defending world series champion to have 12K ever....No excuses....Anaheim, Arizona, NY Yankees probably never had 12K after winning the title and don't give me this opponent argument because these stadiums are packed even for the D-Rays or the Brewers. I'm surprised anyone went to game 7 of the Heat series...oh wait it's the playoffs....I went to a Heat Sixers game this year where there couldn't have been more then 5K. Absolutely shameful.
May 7, 200422 yr Well the players have a lot less pressure when there aren't a lot of fans. So I think its helps out the Marlins. I remember Luis Castillo saying when he had a 35 game hitting streak that he had no pressure hitting infront of an empty park. And also if we get a lot of fans like NY has then the Marlins have presure like the players on NY do.
May 7, 200422 yr marlinsfaninPA, the problem is that you are preachin to the wrong choir most, if not all, go to our share of Marlins games..... and alot on this board dont have cars or arent legal to drive anyway
