The thing I don't think people "get" is the fact that these celebrities get this kind of crap all the time. For real. People bothering them while they're eating, paparazzi following them, and just people being a**holes in general.

 

I don't think punk'd is that funny. It's a status thing, which is why 99% of the time, those celebs allow it to be used (basically, if you're on punk you're a real celebrity; kind of). I liked it a lot better early on when they pulled this crap on real people and got sued.

 

I hate getting hassled. I hate it at work, I hate it when bums approach my car. I hate when morons on campus give me flyers to rock shows I don't want to see. And I'm just a normal guy. Now, multiply it a million times and you've got the s*** celebs have to go through. And, you have to take into account, it's WORSE for a sports celeb because they get more negative reactions than tv or movie stars.

A-Rod's right. Screw Ashton Kucher. No love to anyone who finds this crap offensive. At least on Jackass when they do this stuff they're genuinely showing affection by doing it (and the other person is usually a willing participant). And by showing affection, I mean Ryan Dunn wouldn't punch his buddy Raab for doing something like throwing dust on his face (antiqueing) if they weren't good friends and knew each other intimately (good friends, perverts). And Raab wouldn't have thrown the dust on Dunn's (called: antiqueing) face if he didn't know he wouldn't take it too seriously and get THAT mad.

And have you seen the show!? Why should someone pissing you off be laughed off? They take things too far. Period. If I was on that show, it'd be Tracey Morgan style complete with me yelling and throwing a fit. And there would be no forgiveness. Practical joke or not, it's not worth the hassle. Another in a string of bad reality shows.

I have no problem with the show, except when they have them harass them in those situations. To have someone bother them when they're eating dinner, A Rod had every right to be upset.

A-Rod probably would have been fine with it if he were dining with a friend... but it is just rude to interupt a dinner with his wife.

that show is so lame. Ashton Kutcher's analysis periodically during the prank is horrendous. Screaming into the camera wearing a brand new John Deere hat, when he wouldnt know a tractor if a tire rolled over his foot....he's a douchebag, plain and simple. That show is one reason (of millions) why MTV blows.

I can't wait until this show goes to TV hell.

Maybe I'm just showing my age, but I don't get why this show succeeds. Something's rotten in Denmark when this sort of behavior forms the centerpeice of popular culture. Or is it the barbarians at the gate of Rome?
