May 20, 200422 yr We ARE NOT out of it. I can't we are out of it now, because last year i believed we weren't out of it when we were 10 games below .500. - SAID BY YOU RIGHT NOW right now i believe the marlins should not play to win the division but to finish above 500 and reload for next season. - SAID BY YOU ABOUT 20 MINUTES AGO
May 20, 200422 yr i HOPE bill robinsons job is not in jeopardy, he sounds like a good coach from the times he has spoken on tv.
May 20, 200422 yr i believe we are not out of it but we shouldn't consider this season a tragedy if they don't win the division. but they should bring up willingham so he can be sharp so next year he wouldn't have to adjust.

Just shut up already. You PWNED yourself and you're not admitting it. Stop changing your words all of a sudden.
May 20, 200422 yr The only thing that sickens me more than the way we are playing is this board. Do most of you hear yourselves? We're in the middle of May, and we're half a game out of first place! Come on now, how can you call the Mets and Phillies in it, and us out of it when the Mets aren't even at .500, and we're 3 over despite going 5-5 in our last 10 games. Seriously, this negativity is killing me. I'm not saying "all's well," but Jesus over-reaction is unnecessary at this point of the year. I know, "games in May count the same as games in September," but a 2 game losing streak in September mentally affects the team more than the same thing in May. We've got the D-Backs for four games, and outside of Johnson, their staff is garbage, plus Beckett is going tomorrow, we should be able to turn things around...
May 20, 200422 yr they shouldn't make it a horrible event if they don't win division with the holes the team has on it RIGHT NOW! but we aren't out of it.

May 20, 200422 yr i say if we should tank in july or august. next years team will definitely be better than this years team. what the hell are you smoking?
May 20, 200422 yr should we bring up willingham? Southern League ? Carolina Mudcats 4/8 to 5/18 AVG G AB R H RBI 2B 3B HR BB SO SB CS .257 34 101 22 26 21 8 0 7 21 26 1 1

We are all just stewing from two tough losses. All will be better after we beat up on the D'Backs. Still would like to see a move to replace Castro though...... :mad :
May 20, 200422 yr What we need is a string of majestic starts from our starting pitching. When the season began, our starters were torching hitters left and right. Didn't matter who was sent up there, they were going to be sent right back down to the dugout one way or another, more often than not with a big fat K hung on the scoresheet. Opposing batters were on the field in the on deck circle, batter's box, and first base IF they got lucky. Quality Starts were written in the game summary before the thing even started. Our starters were doing as they pleased with other teams, and the rest of the team flowed from it. The hitters saw that the starters were going to give them maybe one or two runs a night to make up and they loved it. They needed two, they would put up four or five. When the starters decided they were done playing with their food for the night, an electric Chad Fox, an efficient Justin Wayne, a confident Nate Bump, an untouchable Matt Perisho, or the Janitor Tommy Phelps would march in from the pen and put hitters away. Then the phone would ring and Big Poppa would be summoned to the Hill to mow down three hitters and mark another W on the scoresheet. That is how it was at the beginning of the season. What has happened since then? DO and his 12346813274.75 ERA. Dontrelle Willis forgetting how to through strikes. Josh Beckett thinking he can throw instead of pitch. We have two reliable starters on our staff at the moment, Brad Penny and Carl Pavano, and as we have seen over the past week they can be beaten even when they don't deserve to lose because of the other cogs of the team. If the strength of the team isn't keeping it all together, who will? We need The AJ
May 20, 200422 yr This has to be the bandwagon thread of the year and anyone who posts in here in a negative way about the season over you are either A.Spoiled by winning last year even though at this point we were under .500. B.Dont know a damn thing about baseball to know were only .5 games out of 1st place where we have been there the whole year till now. You all need a slap in the face, listen to people like ramp,Admin etc who arent negative a-holes and realize its a long year and just cause we are ina funk doesnt mean the year is over!! I admit we do need some help at Catcher and in the pen but the key is some players not playing to their ability yet. Castillo,Beckett, conine willis need to step up the consistency and guide this team. and you other fools that think the seasons over...whats your favorite baseball team? i mean really??
May 20, 200422 yr Acknowleding a problem and offering solutions is not a negative view of the team. Quite the opposite, it shows that we truly care about the team and want it to be bettered. Now the ones giving up, they just suck.

Now the ones giving up, they just suck. Yes, there's a wide gap between admitting problems/making suggestions and saying the team sucks/the season is over, etc. There's no question we have some things to fix. We're still not going anywhere. We're not going to drop off the radar as some seem to think. We'll be there to the end, believe that.
May 20, 200422 yr my favorite team is the marlins...d'uh have been since 1993 the sheer fact that u answered that question proves something...

A trade (if that's the road we take...which I think it pretty much has to be) gives all the guys a shot in the arm because it proactively demonstrates that the front office believes in the team, and that energizes everyone, plus it takes one automatic out out of the lineup.
