May 30, 200422 yr so did they saw what was wrong with him? have any idea how long he may be out for? thanks
May 30, 200422 yr Author Id be lying if I said I wish he didnt go on the DL but thats me being selfish and thats probably not best for the team
May 30, 200422 yr Id be lying if I said I wish he didnt go on the DL but thats me being selfish and thats probably not best for the team If it's Red, we're worried. If it's Castro, we pray he broke something. It's not nice but it's true.
May 30, 200422 yr lol cruel but true...I agree with UberUbi. I wanted to say this. I know he only got two at bats, but how bad can Castro get? How low can he sink?? I would praise any, ANY move whatsoever from the FO to upgrade our catcher position. Even though I don't want to sound selfish, Red going in the DL might actually help us by bringing up someone who could possibly excel and take Castro's job! :confused
May 30, 200422 yr Castro is quickly Approaching that .100 mark.... if he falls below that, that will be the first TIMe I have seen a NON-Pitcher with a BA below .100
May 30, 200422 yr At first everyone was praising him and all. Last season all of you were saying he would hit 25-30 homers if he starts everyday. Now you guys want him injured and not playing? Oh well... What i do hate is that today on that slider (wild pitch) pavz threw on the ground he tried to back hand it, and was to lazy to block it in front of him.
May 30, 200422 yr Castro is quickly Approaching that .100 mark.... if he falls below that, that will be the first TIMe I have seen a NON-Pitcher with a BA below .100 I was thinking about that...what's the worst BA ever for a non pitcher in the number of at bats that Castro has? that'd be an interesting stat to know, wouldn't be surprised if Castro is among the worse!!! :mischief2
May 30, 200422 yr Are there any teams out there that would claim him off waivers? Looking through the injury reports only Texas and Toronto have catchers expected to be out for a logn time. I don't think the Blue Jays would bite, and Texas has 40-man roster issues.
May 30, 200422 yr Castro, average wise, is THE WORST hitter in major league baseball (at least 70 at bats as of last Monday). That's an accomplishment. A funny and sad one, but an accomplishment nonetheless.
May 30, 200422 yr Mike Cameron is up there with Castro Also. Cameron is .196 (22 hits in 153 at bats). Castro is .151 (13 hits in 86 AB) Cameron is bad but Castro is horrendous. Maybe it's that trial s***. I can just imagine the collective horror everyone shared when Redmond got beaned by that ball today.
May 30, 200422 yr and to think some on this board wanted Red gone last season and called me unrealistic and such a homer for Red I couldn't see the blind truth. :mischief
May 30, 200422 yr and to think some on this board wanted Red gone last season and called me unrealistic and such a homer for Red I couldn't see the blind truth. :mischief Come on now... NO ONE saw this coming. NO ONE thought Castro would stink so bad. Even the most pessamistic wouldn't have predicted that. So it's not fair to bring up what people thought about him prior to this season. I am sure even you did not think he would be this bad.

No, I said it was important to keep a strong catcher like Redmond in case Castro had problems.
May 30, 200422 yr Anyone know what our stats are win-loss wise with Redmond starting versus Castro this year?
May 30, 200422 yr so did they saw what was wrong with him? have any idea how long he may be out for? thanks I heard a commentator say that Redmond was OK. He didn't break anything. He's good a new.
May 30, 200422 yr Yeah, XRays were negative. He probably wasn't going to catch tomorrow anyways, so it's just an extended day off until Monday.
May 30, 200422 yr so did they saw what was wrong with him? have any idea how long he may be out for? thanks Red will be on the bench today, but could start again either Monday, or Tuesday at the latest. From MLB.com: The Marlins pulled even in the fourth on Gonzalez's RBI single off the wall in left. Jeff Conine walked and Mike Redmond was struck on the right forearm by a Seo fastball. Accompanied by assistant trainer Mike Kozak, Redmond was removed from the game. X-rays were negative, and he is listed as day-to-day with a contusion. Already playing with a broken pinkie on his left hand, Redmond will not start Sunday but could be back as late as Tuesday.? "Depending on how much it swells up, we'll see probably Monday or Tuesday at the latest," McKeon said. "We don't need him out." Thankfully Alex has been hitting better the last few weeks or so,...limiting our automatic outs when Castro is in the lineup.
