June 21, 200422 yr No, rotation means starters. Staff means every pitcher on your team. Brush up on your baseball lingo.
June 21, 200422 yr He didn't say pitching staff, that's the point. Unless you can read minds should you let him speak for himself.

June 21, 200422 yr He didn't say pitching staff, that's the point. Unless you can read minds or something I suggest you let him speak for himself. *OFF-TOPIC* sorry had to do it. How's your Benitez prediction working out? Oh yeah 3 scoreless innings so far. So when is he supposed to lose all of his confidence and start pitching terrible?
June 21, 200422 yr If we want a trade that Beinfest could get done right now, I would call up Kansas City and try to get Matt Stairs and one of their relievers. (Sullivan, Seanez, or Grimsley). Stairs might not be a big name bat but he's a proven hitter that can play left field, has pop and hits right-handed pitching very well. This would be a very low cost deal farm-wise, also. we dont need matt stairs hes no real upgrade over conine if you make a deal make it a good one or no deal at all

The guy is unstable, he's been that way for his whole career. Remember that when he blows 5 games in September.

Although I would love Finley, people keep telling me it's not going to happen, so if it isn't possible we should get a guy who can split time with Conine and can hit righties well, because that has been a huge weakness for Conine, he's hitting terribly against righthanded pitching. Also, KC is going to milk a Beltran trade for all it's worth, and thus wont get done for at least a month. We need help now, because this ship is sinking fast. We better give it our best try while we're still in it or we might not even be buyers when the trade deadline rolls around.
June 21, 200422 yr Are we back on Seanez and Grimsley again? Ugh. To those who still think we need another arm for the bullpen consider this: two of our better relievers (Wayne, Phelps) are in AAA right now. If we do go after a bat it better be an outfielder. I think Conine can turn it around, but we're packed with infielders at the moment. Heck two of them are our starting left and right fielders. Stairs? Sounds good. A cheap veteran desperate to win to a title. Nice lefthanded power to platoon with Niner or come off the bench.
June 21, 200422 yr id rather just play nunez against righties instead of wasting trade bait for matt stairs
June 21, 200422 yr two of our better relievers (Wayne, Phelps) are in AAA right now. and that proves how much we need bullpen help. If Tommy Phelps and Justin Wayne are two of our better relief pitchers than something is wrong. Nothing against those guys, I like them, but combined they have only about a year of major league experience. We just need 1 more guy, and it doesn't need to be a closer type pitcher just a guy who can get the game to Koch and Benitez and fill in for Koch if he doesn't work out.
June 21, 200422 yr it may be off topic but i just want to insert here how pissed off i am that koch blew todays game im not saying he wont work out...i liked the trade an all...but damn koch
June 21, 200422 yr id rather just play nunez against righties instead of wasting trade bait for matt stairs You don't have a reason for saying that? You just dont like stairs, or what? Stairs is a proven major league hitter, and would fit perfectly in the role we would need him to play.
June 21, 200422 yr Nothing against those guys, I like them, but combined they have only about a year of major league experience. The reason why they are in AAA is because we have too many guys with major league experience who refuse to be sent down. WTFNUNEZ? You want to start him, Trizzle? Right now he's the worst 4th OF in the majors and he deserves a start? Why? To rise up the GIDP rankings?

It would take maybe 1 mid-level prospect and probably one of our young relievers at AAA. I'm not sure if their still interested in Nunez since he's sucked every opportunity he's gotten but he could be involved.
June 21, 200422 yr Carl Everrett would not be a bad LF even though he is very very slow, he can swing the bat pretty well.

June 21, 200422 yr I know Rondell White has injury problems, but when healthy is a helluva player. Plus his contract isn't very big and he hits righties just as well as he hits lefties. He also hits well with RISP. He would be a perfect #5 hitter, IMO. Come on Detroit, give him up!! k, i really will stop now

Everett has a bad temper but I've heard he is a very good teammate. His teammates say he is a very misunderstood person.

He was in fact one of the most popular guys in the White Sox Clubhouse during our stretch run with Everett on the squad last season.
June 21, 200422 yr I wouldn't mind Everett. Like Stairs he hits right-handed pitching well. His problem has been against left-handers, and that could be solved because Conine would play against lefties.
