I think we should try to gun for a catcher prospect that can help us out his year. For example, the Angels have Wil Nieves at AAA who is hitting more than .300 this year, has a good OB %, and doesnt strike out alot. The guy i think would be expendable b/c they already have Bengie Molina behind the plate and the guy is 26 y/o and going to be 27 y/o before the season is over. So we would be trading each other 2 older prospects who could help us now. This guy with Bengie there would never smell the ground of a major league field unless as a backup. This would be good for the Angels especially since they've been having an injury plagued year. What other catchers (or other players) do you think we can get in exchange for Abe?

WTF??? Where did you read that? The DRays have a ton of talented OFers on their team and in the minors. They are the last team that would need Nunez.

Remember that Abes trade value isnt as high now as it was at the begg of the season. We are not going to get a top prospect. I say we go after an older catcher prospect (no older than 28 y/o) or a decent reliever (ML or AAA). I dont believe any team will give us anything real good for Abe esp after his struggles this season.

Nunez for Hall would be a bad move for the Marlins.

 

The outfield is already lacking depth, and we have enough catchers (Redmond, Treanor, Willingham, maybe Castro) and righthanded bats.

Treanor need s to start more..... he hasnt shown or even given a reason not to everytime willis pitches dude florishes......

I agree....we need to see more Treanor...He's had some big hits and has proven he can handle the catching duties.

I love Abraham Nunez.. If they can just let the guy play.. maybe we'll get something out of him. He plays all 3 outfield position.. so if anyone needs a day off. We got him.. He's switch hitter.. so he can bat against any pitcher. I just don't want him leaving.. :crying

I think that Jack needs to give Nunez some more starts before the All Star break so then hopefully it will bring up his trade value.
