July 4, 200422 yr Author I like the idea of hitting Choi 3rd. But playing Cabs at SS is just fantasy. 439085 He played it during the playoffs, why not now? We need his bat and SS is a position he knows.

We need his bat and SS is a position he knows. 439088 Because he hasn't practiced there all season for one. Another reason is he has outgrown the position....his larger frame does not have the quickness to play SS anymore.

You should know the old man by now.
July 4, 200422 yr Pierre Castillo Choi Lowell Cabrera Treanor Conine Gonzalez Burnett I'm not going to hold today against Matt because he barely gets the chance to play and he sometimes can come out cold. He's still doing better than Red, regardless of how much he plays. The only three that care right now are Juanpy, Hee Seop, and Mikey, which is sad. You know AJ cares, and if I go tomorrow to see AJ in person for the first time since 2002, and they don't put offense up for him outside of our three with heart, I don't know what I'm going to do. But it won't be pretty.

Don't count on it happening. Ever.

July 4, 200422 yr I dont get it? Whats Jack's deal with leaving Choi so down in the lineup? Get him more involved He reached base every time tonight
July 4, 200422 yr they've GOT to move Choi up in the order. He's taking gobs of walks & with the bottom of the order following him, why wouldn't you walk him anyway?
July 4, 200422 yr Castillo Choi Conine Lowell Cabrera Pierre Redmond Gonzalez Burnett 439502 "Me likey the stranger..." Rferry, interesting lineup. I like it. Choi does have the highest OBP on the team. He has shown me a lot over the last three games - he is playing effortlessly and he is at another level right now. Get him more involved - the three wouldnt be bad either. Of course, I agree with Conine's spot. Most people are just fooling themselves when they fail to see how his bat at the 3 spot could aid this team. My only change to your lineup would be to put JP at the 1 and Castillo at 6 with Red following. AGon is pretty much useless some nights, great the other. He has been making good contact though of late and could contribute soon. I like this lineup - although I am never too thrilled with messing with our 1-2 punch. But Castillo has been ineffective for the most part lately.
July 4, 200422 yr I figure if he's not running there is no point in putting JP at the top when Luiy is clearly the better hitter. And like Niner batting ahead of Lowell getting better pitches to hit, maybe JP would get a better chance to run with pitchers electing to face Redmond and Gonzalez (who may not be Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth but they certainly aren't Lenny Harris and Ray Castro).
July 4, 200422 yr how about: Castillo 2B Choi 1B Cabrera RF Lowell 3B Dillon LF Redmond C Pierre CF Gonzalez SS Burnett SP
