Posted July 6, 200420 yr I hear some of you guys mentioning Kendall as a possibility that the team could trade for him. Well the Pirates are in town, and I for one am hoping that Beinfest isnt wasting time and not talking to the Pirates GM about a trade for Kendall.. :plain
July 6, 200420 yr Maybe, but I doubt it. Would be funny to see it work out like the Koch deal and some say because Littlefield (Pirates GM) knows our farm system. But that is a very big contract.
July 6, 200420 yr When the Sox were in town, they left us with Billy Koch. Who will the Pirates leave us with?
July 6, 200420 yr When the Sox were in town, they left us with Billy Koch. Who will the Pirates leave us with? 443525 Sean Burnett. :plain Here I am hoping we get Mesa. Can't hurt to have too many closers in your pen.

July 6, 200420 yr Kendall is not only a catcher but a big time bat. Put him into the 2 spot and put Castillo down to 6th until he wakes up.
July 6, 200420 yr Kendall is money...... Lifetime .304 hitter who can play more than one position. There were a few of us last year who pipe-dreamed about him at the deadline. This team needs something huge...... And they have the money..... GET er' DONE!
July 6, 200420 yr i doubt they would want to trade Kendall.... the Pirates are playing their best ball right now and believe they still have a chance at this point
July 6, 200420 yr If we get Kendall, Carl Crawford, and Todd Helton, we'll be fine. 443659 Tampa is doing too good to let one of their best players go....i dont think we need any of these players.
July 6, 200420 yr i doubt they would want to trade Kendall.... the Pirates are playing their best ball right now and believe they still have a chance at this point 443691 They don't have a chance in that division
July 6, 200420 yr Kendall would be ideal, but very doubtful. I think the price is pretty high, we would be paying him Pudge type money.
July 6, 200420 yr Little on Nugget on Kendall...his lifetime average at the Pro over .400 443759 *drolls however, I hoping that Willy can set us free
July 6, 200420 yr Willingham being called up...to start tonight. Perhaps a showcase of our tradeable pieces :mischief2

Makes no sense getting rid of Josh for a one year rental. This guy is the future.
July 6, 200420 yr I agree with Minus on this one - you dont trade Willingham to get Kendall. If Willy is as good as advertised - offensively - then there is no reason to deal him away. You have the rights to him and can keep him for a long time at a very low salary. That is what this team needs. In fact, if anything, with Tankersley and Murphy on the horizon, you have to start wondering if Penny or Pavano will be dealt since we wont be able to re-sign both, in all likelihood, and there is no reason to re-sign both when you have some young, capable talent coming up. You could get a lot of young talent with those kind of assets. If the Marlins make a move, I think it should be very minimal right now. Trade Easley, Nunez and even what's left of Castro for a quality vet bat to play OF with Conine.
