farmer_fran
That'd be great if WRDQ picked up the fish. They used to have Devil Rays baseball 2 or 3 years ago, but then they moved to PAX.
CapeFish
So if you live in Central Florida...get Adelphia, Dish Network, DirecTV, or Comcast. If you have Bright House...you out of luck.

TealMonster
why did the Sunshine network stop showing marlins games???
fanofthefish
I live in central Florida, have bright house and get the Marlins on FSN. Of course FSN has a rotation between the MArlins and Stink Rays, but I get 100+ Marlins games a year. I just don't get the games on PAX. Foladar
I did my emails and emailed them all, so happy that I have Adelphia Digital Plus. Cant' wait to get DVR so I can record the Games!

CapeFish
why did the Sunshine network stop showing marlins games??? 455456[/snapback] Wayne bought SportsChannel Florida (now FSN Florida) and put the games on there. Marlins went from 60 some games on Sunshine to 95 games on FSN.

Foladar
Bright House said this: "We would like to thank you for your request to carry Fox Sports Net .We try to offer our customers the biggest selection of programming, and are always looking for new channels that we can add to our services. Your e-mail has been forwarded to our programming department for consideration regarding the addition of the Fox Sports Net channel. While we are proud of the fact that we offer a wider variety of channels than any other provider in the area, we are also aware that our customers want the best programming possible. For announcements concerning new Bright House Networks programming and services, please keep checking our website at http://www.cfl.mybrighthouse.com/. Thank you for taking the time to write to us." Ice Man
that translates into:Â "Yeah, we could care less about what you want....Oh did you know your bill is due?"
CapeFish
Response from WRDQ: It's not quite as simple as that. When we pick up games, we displace other programs that we have contractual obligations to. Even if the games are free, the Marlins (I'm sure) put in their own advertising. They probably leave a very limited amount for the station. This would end up causing a loss of revenue for us. These kinds of things have to be negotiated with the team so that you don't loose a truckload of revenue because of the team consuming all of the advertising time in the game. Thank you e-mail though, we always evaluate opportunities like this when they arise for the station. John Keyes   I will get in contact with the Marlins and see what I can do here. farmer_fran
I got this back from WRDQ. Mr. Martin,  Thank you for taking the time to e-mail you thoughts. We keep our eyes open for opportunities such as picking up professional sports. If such an opportunity is made available to us, we would definitely consider it.  John Keyes WFTV / WRDQ   I also saw this in the email they sent me. I thought it was pretty funny. From: Naughtin, Linda (CBI-Orlando TV) Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 9:19 AM To: Keyes, John (CBI-Orlando TV WRDQ); Mendoza, Mario (CBI-Orlando TV WRDQ); Hall, Kay (CBI-Charlotte) Subject: FW: Web Form Submission    Maybe these people have formed a club?   :lol Good work guys. :thumbup
