July 21, 200422 yr I don't think Gammons realizes that we're only paying Koch about 500K. and I had just turned to ESPN and that was on the screen I thought it was a real trade at first and almost crapped my pants.

July 21, 200422 yr eh ... a healthy Walker could cause some serious damage and would be a defensive improvement over Cabrera in RF. plus he has a better arm ... im thinking cabs would move to LF and if we can afford him for next year, I would say go for it ($6 mil for a chance with a caliber player such as Walker is not that bad) he could also fill in well in that 3 hole or 5th in the order JP Castillo Cabrera Lowell Walker Choi AGon catcher I think we would be giving up a bit too much (by throwing in Koch or Reed or Murphy, take any out and sure) ... and it would also be a kick in the ass to Conine

July 21, 200422 yr I don't think there would ever be a way for the marlins to work out a deal for Walker because of the money issue. The deal that Gammons proposed doesn't solve the money issue for either teams. Only way it would happen is if Colorado ate a big portion of Walker's remaining contract and that doesn't look like it will happen.
