he's 22 years old and has some pop to his bat. he doesn't fit into cincy's future because their outfield is basically full of all stars. I'd give him a shot.

I wouldn't mind getting Pena at all either but we can't get rid of any of our starters now! Dont you guys get it. If one man can't do it (Bump) while replacing Beckett what makes you think we can let go another starter. We just can't. If not I'll tell you right now the season will go down the drain. We have to keep our starters. Our bullpen blows too. So getting rid of Penny, Pavano, Burnett, Willis or Beckett is not an option. And if it's done our season is basically flushed down the toilet.

Although I like that Benson/Pena three-way deal, but Benson could potentially cost even more in prospects.

Pena has been sick lately, the guy is hitting HRs like crazy these last 2 weeks or so.... 7 HR in last 10 games

He's right. They have held onto him even without options just waiting for him to explode...he fits in fine with them.

There is no chance the Reds trade Mr. Pena.

 

Kearns and Griffey are very injury prone, and they need Pena for times like this especially when both of them are hurt.

 

Not to mention, he's very young, very talented, and (as of now) very cheap. Like Ramp said, at this point, it's likely the Reds may tell Kearns to learn a new position or trade him if he ever does get healthy.
