Nice Players Not good enough

Featured Replies

All this talk about we should get this player or that player like.... Denny Bautista, Rob Makowiak, or Olerud, or finely or Jacque Jones, yeah they are nice players but they are not going to be the difference maker that we are going to need. all of these guys are nice players but we need a great player and the only one out there that will make that difference for us w/o trading any of our starting pitchers is Carlos Beltran. i would give up any prospects that the Astros would want and also throw in choi if the Astros would want him and then have conine and cordero play first.

yeah the marlins give up good prospects and choi for beltran a player the marlins wont have next year even if they manage to get him this year

Maybe, just maybe, if we were on an equal economic playing field I'd say sure, but our farm system is pretty depleted as it is, factor in Allison's disappearance, and Choi's presence and we really only have 2 maybe 3 impact prospects that will be here in a year (Hermida, Murphy, Reed...Bazardo is not going to be rushed, nor will Olsen). To get Beltran for two months, we'd certainly have to give up at least two of those three and Jason Stokes...no thanks.

lolololo

We have the players to win.

What we need is a lineup that produces.

Exactly. And our farm system is NOT depleted.

Psst...put Conine 3rd.

A move for a lesser known bat would be a good move but nothing drastic. I would go as far to say that if THe PHils do get Finley, The Marlins should make a play for Jason Michaels or another underlooked solid 4th OF
