And since this is a Marlins board, I'll post the Marlins:

1. Miguel Cabrera, RF, Florida (Age as of April 1, 2004: 20)

2004 Stats: 20 HR, 61 RBI, .297 AVG, 89 GP

Acquired: Signed as an undrafted free agent in 1999

Burst onto the major league scene last year and appears ticketed for stardom. He could be more disciplined at the plate as he's struck almost once per game in career, but with the production he's going to have, the K's are a minor quibble.

2. Josh Beckett, RHP, Florida (Age as of April 1, 2004: 23)

2004 Stats: 4-5, 3.89 ERA, 84 K, 22 BB, 67 H, 76 IP

Acquired: 1st round pick in 1999

A bona fide ace, as long as he can stay healthy (blister problems have cropped up now and then), Beckett has the prototypical power repertoire -- high heat, power curve and a changeup. He also has an attitude, some would say cockiness, but not manager Jack McKeon who told the Miami Herald, "He talks a lot, but he backs it up. I love the kid."

3. Dontrelle Willis, LHP, Florida (Age as of April 1, 2004: 22)

2004 Stats: 7-5, 3.99 ERA, 72 K, 36 BB, 117 H, 103 IP

Acquired: Trade from Chicago Cubs

The D-Train exploded onto the scene last year as a rookie, posting a 14-6 record and 3.30 ERA. His delivery involves an exaggerated leg-kick, which helps hide the ball until the last possible moment, making his mid-90's fastball very difficult to hit. As a bonus, Willis is a very good hitter too.

4. Jeremy Hermida, OF, Jupiter (Single-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 20)

2004 Stats: 6 HR, 31 RBI, .296 AVG, 7 SB, 54 GP

Acquired: 1st round pick in 2002

Outstanding hitter is still developing his power. As he is now, he's a solid line drive hitter with a quick bat. Defensively, Hermida still has some work to do, but he has the tools to be a very good all-around player.

5. Scott Olson, LHP, Jupiter (Single-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 20)

2004 Stats: 3-6, 3.67 ERA, 103 K, 42 BB, 87 H, 90 2/3 IP

Acquired: 6th round pick in 2002

Nicely improving lefthander has an excellent mix of pitches and an aggressive mindset on the mound. Has the stuff to become a big league starter, with his fastball-slider repertoire.

6. Justin Wayne, RHP, Richmond (Triple-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 24)

2004 Stats: 3-2, 5.52 ERA, 17 K, 15 BB, 27 H, 27 IP

Acquired: Trade from Montreal

Middle reliever doesn't have great velocity, but has four pitches that he can throw for strikes, making him a possible contributor to the rotation at some point.

7. Jeff Allison, RHP, Carolina (Double-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 20)

2004 Stats: N/A

Acquired: 1st round pick in 2003

Allison has excellent ability, but an addiction to painkilling medication has been his greatest challenge this year. If he can get back on track, he does have a 96 MPH fastball that could be his ticket to the majors.

8. Jason Stokes, 1B, Carolina (Double-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 22)

2004 Stats: 18 HR, 64 RBI, .278 AVG, 70 GP

Acquired: 2nd round pick in 2000

Does have a bit of turnstile in his game (85 strikeouts in 70 games), but also possesses legitimate power. With greater discipline at the plate, Stokes could compete for a job in a few years.

9. Eric Reed, OF, Carolina (Double-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 23)

2004 Stats: 3 HR, 14 RBI, .306 AVG, 24 SB, 55 GP

Acquired: 9th round pick in 2002

Speed burner who doesn't hit with a lot of power, but relies on making contact and making things happen with his legs.

10. Bill Murphy, LHP, Carolina (Double-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 23)

2004 Stats: 6-3, 3.61 ERA, 107 K, 55 BB, 70 H, 94 2/3 IP

Acquired: Trade from Oakland

Needs to harness his control better, but Murphy has shown an ability to rack up strikeouts as he's progressed through the minors.

What the hell is Wayne doing on that list?

Anyway how could they leave off Bazardo, the kid just turned twenty and has a 2.70 ERA in 130 innings in high class A jupiter and has a WHIP of about 1.16. I'd replace Wayne with him. I also don't think Allison belongs on the list. I'd replace him with one of our young shortstops, Josh Wilson who has had a breakout year and was recently promoted to AAA and doing very well or Robert Andino, who is tearing it up in Jupiter.

Well, it terms of the list, I don't know how reliable it is because it comes from Canada... :plain

I also like how it says Wayne is playing in Richmond. Last time I checked Richmond was the Braves AAA affiliate. :lol (They spelled Scott Olsen's name wrong too.)

It's still pretty interesting though, thanks for posting it.

1. Hanley Ramirez, SS, Sarasota (Single-A) (Age as of April 1, 2004: 20)

2004 Stats: 1 HR, 16 RBI, .301 AVG, 9 SB, .301 AVG, 44 GP

Acquired: Signed as undrafted free agent in 2001

Exciting athlete has potential to be great -- possibly a franchise player -- though he's not putting up much in the power department this season as a wrist injury has presented an additional challenge for him. As one might expect from a 20 year-old, Ramirez needs to mature if he's going to reach the lofty heights his physical tools suggest.

The next big thing for the Boston Red Sox/ MLB. One of the fastest guys I've ever seen(up the line in 3.5?), Has range at Short that probably tops most Major Leaguers, to top it off he has a cannon on his Right Shoulder. THE most exciting player to watch. Anyone who lives in South Florida should make the drive to see him play...

If anyone cares, the Devil Rays are top rated team as far as prospects go and they have the top 2 prospects in all of baseball according to baseballamerica.com

The D-Rays have a GREAT farm. Delmon Young and BJ Upton says it all right there.

When you have the first pick in the draft every year you should be able to put together a good farm system.

exactly

Jeff Allison and Justin Wayne don't belong on that list. It's pretty clear to me that Allison needs to worry about getting his life together again, long before he worries about playing baseball again. I figure we won't see him pitch in a Marlins uniform.

The highest Justin Wayne will ever get will be career AAA starter.
