July 31, 200422 yr i read the whole thing and he most certainly didn't say he "likes it" for us. actually, he doesn't even mention how it affects us. he mentioned how it hurts the dodgers in that they lose their "hurt and soul," but that it would be worth it for them if they can snag RJ.

Consider Beckett and Burnett are also eligible for arbitration with Pavano a FA, and we probably won't keep Mota next year. Encarnacion is signed through next year at something like $3-4 million. LoDuca is free agent and will demand somewhere between $5-8 million per year this winter. He'll be gone.

July 31, 200422 yr My mistake. LoDuca is eligible for arbitration next year. He makes $4M now. He'll make $6M or more if he keeps up his first half performance. With Redmond, Willingham, and possibly Treanor and Castro as options for next year I don't think we'll resign LoDuca. If we don't resign him we won't get too much out of a trade. Nothing like a Choi or Murphy. Something decent though, being the best catcher available next winter will force some team to give us something for that exclusive two-week window to negotiate.
