August 22, 200422 yr The marlins have gone way too long without advancing in the standings...? :thumbdown 522153 Yea....We have been in the same spot already for quite a while. 522211 Just look at the beginning of the thread. They started the month 6 games out, now they are 5 games out. They need to start picking up game at a clip more like a game a week, not a game a month.
August 22, 200422 yr 2-3 games out with only 2 teams ahead of us at the end of the month and I will be pleased
August 22, 200422 yr We have yet to play SF and Chicago - so that is why we havent been advancing up the standings as much. We still have to beat SD tonight to really make our case. This team has the ability to make a run and we havent really done it yet. We are starting to win more consistently and at this rate we will have a very good chance of being there in the end.
August 22, 200422 yr Well we have our chance to move up quicker since we're facing the Wild Card Leaders in the coming weeks. (Cubs, and Giants after the Padres)
August 22, 200422 yr Well we have our chance to move up quicker since we're facing the Wild Card Leaders in the coming weeks. (Cubs, and Giants after the Padres) 522298 Yup.....and also when we are not playing the other they have to lose while we win whoever we are playing......Hopefully we can make it.
August 22, 200422 yr The Giants however are as hot as anyone, maybe even a little hotter. ::Still has nightmares of blowing a 8 run lead in SF::

August 28, 200421 yr Cubs have been 8-2 in their last 10 games, that can't last. 529843 Especially when they run into those Fighting Fish for the first time since Bartman and the meltdown.
August 28, 200421 yr The time has come for the Cubs to get something wedged in their throats and choke.
August 29, 200421 yr 5 out? WHAT? Only 5 out once again. 2 days we lose 2 games, 2 days we gain it back. Anything can happen.
August 29, 200421 yr The marlins have momentum and can get a good gain in the standings. The past few times, they've followed up a good couple games by loosing a few in a row. They can't do that this time.

August 29, 200421 yr The fish would be one game closer if the pen didn't blow game 2 with SF. :thumbdown
