June 20, 200322 yr Can anyone confirm the Nunez deal as per xdannyx25? xdannyx25 posted that Nunez had been traded for Mike Fontenot. The only Fontenot I know of - is a fine 2B prospect in the Orioles system. Anyone?
June 20, 200322 yr Mal, I've looked everywhere to try and find out something. Nunez was assigned to the Class A (Jupiter) Hammerheads on 6/16 and has played every game there since. He is playing his way back from his injury. I can't find anything that says he's been traded. BTW, Mike Fontenot is the name of a player with a Baltimore affiliate in the Eastern League. It's at the AA level. Fontenot is batting .294 but he strikes out alot and doesn't seem to have much pop in his bat. here's his stats: AVG G AB R H RBI 2B 3B HR BB SO SB CS .294 59 197 24 58 32 13 2 5 18 44 5 3
June 20, 200322 yr i would tend to not believe it..... based on the crap danny has posted here in his short stay already.
June 20, 200322 yr it's not on espn's transaction wire yet I posted on another thread where I believe dan got the info from. It was some bogus sites that he was dumb enough to believe. BTW, fontenot is a 6-2 2nd baseman and his scouting sheet where his 5 tools were graded didnt look to well from what I saw.. He did good at LSU and is ok in the minors so far though... nothing to fall in love with
