June 23, 200323 yr Author (Fill In the Corporate Name) Orange Bowl Stadium. Nicest thing is it would retain the open end like the current OB. The roof would close and you could have windows (ala Houston or Arizona) or open air (ala Seattle) in that open end.

June 23, 200323 yr With a stadium Loria would stop losing alot of $$$ like he does now, which is always good.

June 23, 200323 yr Author I would agree. UM, the Fish, Little Havana residents, and most would be happy. I think that many would be sad because it would mean doom for the Orange Bowl, but it would lead to a happier time for local sports.

June 23, 200323 yr Does the Orange Bowl have good transportation? One of the main focuses should be good transportation, like PPS has with the Turnpike and LeJune/27th street?(sp?) I would hate to go to a brand new park and see that the road is small and filled with traffic...

June 23, 200323 yr If I recall Loria bought the marlins for $160 million right? If so he going to spend more money on the stadium than on buying the team.

June 23, 200323 yr Author MetroBus only services it now. The new Transportation tax allows MEtroRail to expand to the area in a big way. The airport is nearby down the 836 (Dolphin Expressway) and that has the Miami Intermodal Center (Grand central Station) with lots of parking, buses, trains, cabbies, Tri-Rail, and MEtroRail coming soon. 836 has been under construction but i believe they are almost done. Traffic is bad everywhere in Miami, but UM fans get there and get out. The big problem is parking, but under the stadium parking garages and garages around the ballpark could solve that.

June 23, 200323 yr Author It is not as comfortable as PPS trafficwise, but it works for 60,000 people easily. It has been perfected over time as best as possible.

June 23, 200323 yr Traffic is bad everywhere in Miami That's one of the main reason I'll never move to Miami... I hate traffic... I prefer to travel through this kind of an expressway... Credit: AARoadTrips
June 23, 200323 yr Author That a main reason i left. I hate overcrowding, but the mass transit lines will be there. Tri-Rail will stop at the Airport where you can catch a 5-10 minute shuttle bus to the ballpark.

June 23, 200323 yr Author Broward allready faces the problem. I now live in Lee County so I have no worries!
June 23, 200323 yr Lee county is a beauty... but I prefer to live up north and talking about traffic... people in Orlando complain about the traffic on I-4 and I have told them, "When you see Miami Traffic you find this like nothing"
June 23, 200323 yr Author I-4 is a dream compared to Miami's roads. No birdies from fellow drivers, no over zealous police guys needed to meet month's ticket quotas. I don't I-4 because it is in BIG disrepair. It feels like i am driving on stairs almost.

I-4 has some rough parts in Tampa and Orlando but through Polk, Seminole, and Volusia Counties it's a beauty...
