A New Ballpark...

yes! UM needs it. The Marlins need it. 58% of Dade/Broward People of Voting Age claim to be Marlins supporters. In 2000, Hialeah voters approved a ballpark plan without even being asked by the team.

loria will never put up 300 million to build a stadium.

I did not say he would give 300 million i said he could put in something like 50 million or maybe nothing at all. If the marlins get 300 million in bonds the marlins could pay rent until the debt is payed and host various events to get more revenue.

the stadium authority would get a revenues and pay the debt. the marlins would get the normal revenue that all other clubs get like % of ads, skyboxes, parking, concessions $$$$. They would get all ticket $$$ though. This would be an improvement over PPS where they get basically nothing of that other than all ticket sales. No skybox, concession, parking, and very little ad $$$$

The local gov't guys and gals are worried about the teams commitment and if they should spend the $$$. Tides are starting to change and the fish are talking to them. The team is winning isn't it. :D They are showing commitment (Pudge signing) to win. They also need to be satisfied there is enough fan base (TV ratings and a vote at the polls will solve this)

If you put it before the voters (which i will predict will happen before this november!) it will win and everything is downhill from there. All you would need to worry about is building it and fielding a good team.

This could actually happen if Loria puts in 100 million only 200 more in needed and when the marlins sell the naming rights they probably get some huge bucks there as well and that could make the team pay is debt even faster.

Also with the marlins having a new stadium MLB would probably waste no time in using it to host the all-star game which get the marlins a huge revenue. Man this could happen it really could. Man Capefish your the man how you find all this stuff out? The Mills Co. and the other stuff?

It would keep the Orange Bowl name because it is like Comiskey in Chicago (until this year) or Madison Square Garden in New York. It means world class to people around the world.

Rune can back me up on this, but I believe the Phillies once played in the Baker Bowl. So ballparks can be called bowls.

Bellsouth Orange Bowl Stadium is nice. 1/2 Corporate and 1/2 Local name. That way it could be called the OB II and not be incorrect.
