John Kruk says Beckett will be...

Featured Replies

On BBTN just now, Kruker was talking about Beckett and he said that Josh Beckett will be the best pitcher in all of baseball within 2 years.

I just hope we can get money out of somewhere and have A.J., Beckett, Lowell, Castillo and Cabs in a Marlins uniform in 5 years....that's all I want, build around those guys!

No he did not. He said Beckett COULD be the best pitcher in baseball within two years. He also said that sometimes Josh doesn't look like he cares that he's out there. Kruk was making the point that Beckett needs to get his head straight and get back to caring how he did at the end of last year if we have any hope of making the playoffs.

yup...that sounds like what i heard.

I don't see how his head being reshaped has anything to do with anything. He needs to stay healthy, that's all.

And get rid of the attitude.....He's so cocky it's ridiculous and when he pitches badly, his cockiness doesnt exactly help him...

cocky shmocky

it's no big deal...if he pitches like he can, I won't care if he tells Bonds that he sucks..

He can be cocky all he wants, as long as he shows up every damn game instead of some here and there.

dudeskis, im thinkin beckett probably gives it his all every game...

i doubt he likes getting shelled

i mean, this IS the same dude that pitched Game 6 on 3 days rest

I don't know Furmy.

He seems to sometimes just be content with reaching back and throwing the ball really really hard, instead of pitching like he can and should be doing.

And there's just some games, against teams like the Expos, where he just doesn't look like he cares. He just throws fastballs with some changes here and there and basically dares them to hit it. Any major leaguer can hit a fastball.

i'd be willing to bet every pitcher in the majors pitches their hardest every game....sometimes ya just dont have it

i mean, people might not admit it, but everyone loves their stats...

no way Beckett wants to get shelled by a scrub Expos team....and shoot his ERA over 4.

I think he is very frustrated, and when you gp on the DL and come back you aren't 100%.

also, he needs to mature. If he give up a run or 2 on the early innings, he goes down hill. I think in part due to the weak ass offense putting too much pressure on the pitching.

yah, if he's sucking in the 1st inning or two, he just needs to flip that "switch" and be good all of a sudden.
