Possible MVP candidate

Featured Replies

Travis Hafner. The guy is playing phenominal, and if keeps it up and Cleveland makes it to the playoffs, he should be AL MVP.

my current MVP standings:

1. Manny Ramirez

2. Travis Hafner

3. Melvin Mora

4. Carlos Guillen

5. Eric Chavez

6. Vladimir Guerrero

7. Hideki Matsui

8. Gary Sheffield

9. Paul Konerko

10. Miguel Tejada

11. Jorge Posada

12. Ivan Rodriguez

13. David Ortiz

He has no shot.

Mainly because he plays for the Indians and there's still only about 5 people who know they're contenders.

And those who would vote for Indians will be split between he and Victor Martinez, who is just as valuable.

i say its gotta be between Manny and A-Rod. the guys having a great year, and finally can be called a real MVP without the "losing team" crap he had to deal with in Texas.

The pitchings the MVP for the Indians they have soo many guys hitting well for them right now. Belliard, Lawton having career type years. Martinez is showing hes a stud and hitting with the best of um, alsoOmar batting around .300 andGerut one of the promising kids on the Tribe so they have the bats without Hafner its a matte rof their pitching.

Hafner is really really good, and will continue to be, but Martinez is more of an MVP candidate then he is and Martinez is on the outskirts of the top 5 (Mine would be Vlad, Manny, Pudge, Ortiz, and Tejada)

gary sheffield should be #1. he has single handly carried the yankees offense.

.296 avg 27 HR 85 RBI 404 OBP 532 SLG 936 OPS

If Mike and the Mad Dog say it, it has to be true! Polls on FOX are meaningless, fans have no say in MVP voting and writers have a stick up their ass when it comes to NY teams.

I agree with sheff I think Sheffield is the MVP. He hit his 400th homer against the Jays and then hit one into the 5th deck the next night now that is not why he should be MVP but he has been by far the Yanks best player this year. ANother darkhorse, Mike Young from Texas.

You mean all 400 homers came in one season?

Yeah, that's MVP material then.
