August 26, 200421 yr I'd rather win the division than the Wild Card, but we're close to the WC than we are the division so I guess Braves losing would help us more. But I'd never root for the Braves. Only that the other team loses.

I really wish something can happen to the braves so they can have a really bad end to their season just as they played in the beginning of this year's season. Hell, if that happens maybe we can win the division and be called the Miracle Marlins. We are 8.5 away from leading the Division and 6 away from leading the Wild Card spot. IMO, even though we are closer to leading the Wild Card than the Division, I believe it would be easier to try and take the division only because one team is ahead of us rather than 3. Either way it will be a tough run at the end. Which ever way works out, Id be really glad. Lets just hope we can be very consistent while the Braves have a really bad end or the Padres, Giants, and Cubs fall out. We just really need a miracle.

If a sweep does occur then we will be 5 away. Then all we need to hope for is that somehow the Braves lose some games and when we play them either win the series against them with 2 out of 3 or sweep them. IMHO I think it would be easier to lead the division. I would be rooting for the Giants this weekend.

While we're 8 1/2 games out of the division, three games won by the Giants (combined with a Marlins sweep) would put us within striking distance (5 1/2 games out) considering we have six games with the Braves in September. There's simply too many teams ahead of us in the wildcard to think all of them will fold.
