they are damn impressive though, the us women's team has all their best players, unlike their male counterparts.

Women's basketball is terrible. I'm surprised the WNBA is still going.

the antonio davis you talk about luca...is that the same one that has played for indiana, toronto and i think now chicago?

Yes they are!!

Antonio while he was in Milan was a so nice guy, very active in red cross, Amnesty international events!!

Just a shame he broke his arm just before the final that year!!!

I think I have seen Tabak playing back in Europe lately.

And I guess you know Mike Andrew D'Antoni!

With the italian Meneghin and Doo Doo McAdoo, Mike is the icon of the basket in Milano!

Women basket is not very popular here.

I think we have 2/3 players in WNBA and italian clubs win often in Euro competition but don't think we have a national team or maybe just did not qualified to Olympics

Mike D'Antoni I am very familer with. Underrated coach, never knew anything of him as a player though.

Tabak I never thought was cut out for the NBA game...either that or never got a fair shake in the NBA. One of the two...but he played a year or two before I really started following basketball from an international perspective, thanks in large to my Spurs ties.

As far as women's basketball....you see a handful of players from other nations playing and the vast majority being Americans. The US team is so good because their skill level is so much superior. Women's basketball is boring. IF not for the NBA's money, the WNBA would of folded about 3 years ago if not more. I mean its great for the women to be playing basketball, I found it quite funny when they were compliaing about not making much money...especially compared to the men. Um...the men generate revenue.. The women do not. Its pretty much a write off to the NBA clubs owning the WNBA clubs.

Its kinda like futbol in the early 90s when the US team was so very dominant, but now we are seeing women's futbol take off.

Mike played almost his entire career in Milan!!

He was a fantastic player and lead Milan to dominate Italy and Europe!!

He was called Arsenio Lupin (a very famous french thief) because he was so fast to steal.

He became italian (well, he got italian passport) and played for the italian national team but only at the end of his career.

Then Milano wanted him to coach the new young team after the years of legends and he did great!!!

I think to remember he married Russ Shoenie sister (great american player who palyed for milan: not famouse but really great!!) and movwed to Treviso where he wion again!!!

Then Nba again Treviso and think again nba.

I am not sure what he is doing now!!
