September 9, 200422 yr *edited, thanks Ross & KJC! 9/10 C. Pavano vs Wood 9/10 L. Kensing vs Prior 9/11 D. Willis vs Zambrano 9/12 A. Burnett vs Rusch no Beckett unfortunately, and Clement's out. p.s.... how cool would these matchups be? Beckett vs Prior AJ vs Wood Pavano vs Maddux Willis vs Zambrano.
September 9, 200422 yr Lets bring Josh in out of the pen on his throwing day. :thumbup Bring back some memories for the Cubs.
September 9, 200422 yr I believe the Cubs have switched the order of Prior and Wood. Also, Glendon Rusch will likely be starting in place of Clement.
September 9, 200422 yr p.s.... how cool would these matchups be? Beckett vs Prior AJ vs Wood Pavano vs Maddux Willis vs Zambrano. Beyond awesome...too bad it can't happen. Pavs and AJ are awesome, and Willis is good. Its going to be an awesome series... :thumbup
September 9, 200422 yr its going to be an exciting 4 games. these four pitchers are among the best the Marlins have. theyre determined to win this, and theyve got a shot at it. Pavs is the best pitcher the Marlins have, and imma love seeing him pitch. too bad Beckett isnt playing.
September 9, 200422 yr Wow. Lot of tough matchups. This is the key series that determines our fate- can we get past these very good pitchers? Today we wouldn't have. Tomorrow's a different day though.
September 9, 200422 yr Ah from the looks of these matchups.. Pavano vs Wood - Pavano is so much better than Wood it's not funny.. Well it is! Kensing vs Prior - Cubs cant hit rookies much and Prior hasnt been Prior.. Hmm.. Willis vs Zambrano - Hmmm... Burnett vs Rusch - Rusch has been strong this year but Burnett is pitching good isnt he? Marlins should win 3/4 with these matchups IMHO!
September 10, 200422 yr Marlins have a pretty clear advantage in two of those matchups, have an advantage in a third if the good Dontrelle shows, and we could see big things from Kelsing. Mix this in with the fact that the Fish pen is light years ahead of the Cubs pen in pretty much everything, and you have yourself a nice advantage. Let's hope the offense was taking the day off today to be able to give Cubs' fans nightmares all over again.
September 10, 200422 yr i know Kensing is going up against Prior but hopefully the Son of Bartman will rob alou
