September 11, 200422 yr The Unit didn't hit Bonds on purpose and to think otherwise is ridiculous, it was very obvious by watching the Unit's body language immediately after the pitch. If you watched the entire AB you would know he didn't do it on purpose, he was coming inside on Bonds with very heavy sliders and the one that hit him just got away, nothing more, nothing less. Johnson would also never intentionally walk Bonds, he's got too much pride and at this point in the season that's all he's playing for right now.

September 12, 200422 yr being at the game it was a mixed reaction for bonds all night ... was great seeing him and randy face off ... in his first at bat he flicked one out to the LF warning track ... 2nd he got plunked and the 3rd a hit to RF ... definitely fun to watch the AB where he got hit wasn't that big of a deal ... bonds leans over the plate, he crowds it and trys to limit how pitchers can pitch in side ... he also has that big plate of armor facing the pitcher Johnson isn't going to let any batter, even one as good of bonds, dictate where he is going to pitch ... RJ was throwing a ton of offspeed stuff last night and earlier in the count he put one at bonds feet that made him jump back ... and then bonds proceeded to take 40 seconds walking around the plate to get back in there ... it was one of the harder pitches that randy threw during the AB that hit him, but it didn't look intentional and trust me, there were quite a few cheers and laughing going on in the stadium .. he took on on the shoulder, but that's baseball .. it happens, especially when you crowd the plate
September 12, 200422 yr was fun being there today though ... wish he would of seen more pitches ... was the best in the 9th when the pitcher started off 2-0 against him and the crowd was seething ... he then got it to 2-2 and everyone was clapping and excited ... the 3rd ball came and everyone booed again finally struck him out if the d-backs knew how to run bases they may of won this one oh well, c'est la vie
