I like Metallica :confused

Yeah, I've never been a big concert guy. I still really don't like concerts too much, I guess cuz most of the people I listen to in all genres are either dead or long since broken up.

And they are playing all old stuff so yeah good times.

Nice job, you are really going to like it. Hey if its going to be your first concert you might as well make it the best, and one of the biggest bands in the world.

I cant make it to the ODC show, but I have floor seats in NJ on oct 22, and row 3 and row 2 for Oct 24 and 25 in boston. I will let you know how they go. The last time I saw them was in orlando last summer and it was awesome.

Metallicrap? Last time I checked they just sold out all the concerts on their european leg of the tour, which happened to be a stadium tour. They are also selling out most of the arenas in the US, which happens to be like a 60 city tour.

Last time I checked GnR had fallen off the map...

your point is?

they still suck ... they can play a 30 country tour with million plus in attendance and they will still be a major S*** band in my book

GnR fallen off the map and dead with worms and salt on their wounds > metallicrap

I give them one thing ... master of puppets :thumbup

If you want to believe they suck, God bless you then. Those who like metallica will go see them, those who want to stay home and be closet metallica fans in GnR clothing can do that as well.

Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy > James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett

Use Your Illusion I & II > any Metallica album

November Rain, Estranged > all Metallica songs ever

hence, Guns > Metallica

simple.

GnR had 2 real albums. Appetite & Use Your Illusion I & II(they count as a double album in my book). Lies, The Spaghetti Incident and anything else was for novelty. Most of their exsistance and popularity was based off of their first two albums. For the most part, they weren't even together. As much as I enjoyed their music and now Velvet Revolver, I have to say there just insn't enough to put GnR in a "great" catagory.

Metallica gained popularity before that type of music was played on the radio. With a huge fan base, they took it slowly to the next level. Although a case can be made that they really haven't made a great album since the Black Album or some might say Justice, they are appealing to a new crowd. With that said, they had 3 albums that were better than any GnR album. And their novelty album, Garage Days Revisited, was better than Lies. They are marketing themselves like they never thought they would, and are extremely succesful.

For a band that has been around for over twenty years and still going strong, you would have to compare them to the Rolling Stones.

Not even close for the Gunners.

Therefore the following is true and cannot be disputed:

Metallica>GnR

On a side note, St. Anger sounds worse to me than the sound a man would make getting his sack ripped open by fishing hook.

Yeah, St. Anger blows. They'll never really reach the level they were at with Master of Puppets - Black Album, but outside of the last one the others haven't been bad. Load and Reload aren't great albums all together, but they are good and have great songs. And of course, S&M, while only having two news songs, is amazing.

ill give Metallica their due credit for being around for so long. props to them for that.

now, saying that Metallica have had 3 albums, THREE albums better than any GnR album is just straight crazy talk. just nuts. Appetite for Destruction is a classic, it is one of the top 5 or 10 selling albums EVER. up there with Jacko and all that. and the Use Your Illusion records are works of art. masterpieces. completely. i would rank them up there with Sgt Peppers, Pet Sounds, Thriller, Revolver, in terms of pure art. The Spaghetti Incident was a good cover album, thats all it was. it was not inteded to be anything else. now, Lies is awesome. the first time we get to hear "Patience", "Used to Love Her", and "One in a Million", three great songs.

so again, GnR > Metallica.
